Who is father of Charmaine’s baby?
Who The Father Of Charmaine’s Baby Could Be (It’s Not Jack) – While Virgin River primarily focuses on Mel and Jack’s relationship, Charmaine’s Virgin River pregnancy has been another focal point and issue for the couple. Her pregnancy is revealed at the end of Virgin River season 1, and she identifies Jack as the father of her twins.
This causes Mel to break off her budding relationship with Jack. But, of course, the two end up rekindling their romance, much to Charmaine’s dismay. Jack and Charmaine disagree on many things, such as where to raise the babies and Jack’s expected input. Still, they eventually decide to co-parent alongside Mel and Charmaine’s new husband, Todd.
But in the, a panicked Charmaine reveals that Todd is leaving her and that she lied about Jack being the father of the twins. With the reveal that Jack is not the father, the question now becomes who exactly is the birth father of Charmaine’s twins in Virgin River ? While many theories have been circulating, the answer may already have been hinted at in a previous season.
- In Virgin River season 2, episode 5, “Can’t Let Go”, LAPD officer and military friend of Jack, Mike (Marco Grazzini) is introduced.
- Jack reveals to Mike that Charmaine is pregnant, and his reaction is quite telling.
- This could hint at Mike being the true father of Charmaine’s twins among the existing members of the At first, Mike is surprised when Jack says that Virgin River’s Charmaine is pregnant.
He immediately raises his eyebrows and lifts his arms in shock. He then makes a little nervous laugh before saying, ” I didn’t know you were still seeing her,” During this line, he almost appears sad. The reaction is so big and unexpected that it feels like a noteworthy moment.
While this theory may initially seem like grasping at straws, Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Mel in Virgin River, did reveal ( via ) that the birth father of Charmaine’s twins is someone who already exists in the Virgin River universe. Given the small number of eligible men in the town and Charmaine’s known Virgin River timeline, that leaves few options for the true paternity of Charmaine’s twins.
Since Mike is actively investigating the, he is in the Virgin River area quite a bit. He could have easily crossed paths with Charmaine. Mike’s past with Jack would also explain the sadness expressed when Jack initially reveals the news. After serving in the military together, the two remain close.
Mike wouldn’t want to hurt Jack, including infringing on his possible relationship with the Charmaine Virgin River character. He thought the pair was broken up, which is why he questioned them still being together. Now that the truth of the twin’s paternity has been revealed, it’s clear Charmaine initially lied to try and win Jack back from Mel.
And since Jack lives in Virgin River, he also would have been a more secure father than Mike, who lives in Los Angeles. With Todd now out of the picture, Virgin River season 5 will surely address who Charmaine’s twins’ birth father is. The clock is ticking when it comes to revealing who the father is in the Charmaine Virgin River pregnancy arc. Virgin River season 5 has an obligation to answer all of these questions. As previously mentioned, while there’s no concrete release date yet for Virgin River season 5, Netflix has promised that the series will land on the streaming service sometime in 2023. Because of the compressed nature of Virgin River’s timeline (Charmaine, after all, has been pregnant since the first season of the show), a time jump won’t be used to get beyond Virgin River’s season 4 cliffhanger. Instead, Charmaine’s twins will be a big part of the character’s storyline, or rather, the fallout of her lying about them will be.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith answered some questions for, teasing the future events of the show. Though Smith had to be vague, he did reveal the show will ” look at Jack’s investment in what the twins meant to him, as well as how Charmaine challenged him for so long in that relationship,” The series will have to deal with Jack’s connection to Charmaine, not just what happens to Charmaine next in Virgin River,
The lie about the will likely push them farther apart, leaving the audience to continue to speculate about the father of Charmaine’s twins until the show decides to make the big reveal. : Virgin River Secretly Revealed The Father Of Charmaine’s Twins – Theory
Is Mel in season 5 of Virgin River?
Virgin River season 5 cast – Alexandra Breckenridge will return to play Mel Monroe in Virgin River season 5. The actor confirmed she has been filming for the show, and so has Martin Henderson, who plays Mel’s love interest, Jack. It remains to be seen what other characters return for Virgin River season 5, but we suspect the likes of Paige (Michelle Logan), Melissa Montgomery (Barbara Pollard), and Denny (Kai Bradbury) will be among the cast next season.
We also know Preacher (Colin Lawrence) will be back. Annette O’Toole is back as Hope McCrea, and Mark Ghanimé will return as Cameron Hayek, and the pair have been spotted on set. Meanwhile, Kandyse McClure will join the cast as a currently unknown character, and we will see more of Clare Filipow’s Hannah, the show’s first openly-gay character, in season 5.

Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea Michelle Logan as Paige Lassiter Barbara Pollard as Melissa Montgomery Kai Bradbury as Denny Cutler Colin Lawrence as Preacher Clare Filipow as Hannah Kandyse McClure
How old is Mel in Virgin River Season 4?
How Old Mel & Jack Are In Virgin River Season 4 – The book series’ author Robyn Carr shares that Mel was just 32 when she moved to Virgin River in the first Virgin River book (the source inspiration for season 1) and met Jack, who was 40 at the time (via RobynCarr.com ). Mel and Jack’s ages make sense given their histories.
- As a nurse practitioner, Mel likely attended post-secondary school for six years, before working in an emergency room for five years, which partially overlapped her previous six-year marriage.
- Jack enlisted in the Marines at 18 and served for 20 years.
- Assuming he took a couple of years to establish his bar, it makes sense he is 40 years old when Mel arrives in town.
In season 4, it’s also revealed that Charmaine Roberts’ (Lauren Hammersley) pregnancy with twins is only five months along, despite beginning back in season 1. As such, Mel and Jack are likely still 32 and 40 in season 4, assuming their birthdays have not occurred in the last five months.
Where is Virgin River filmed at?
Virgin River Locations – Before you start getting your hopes up, we’re sad to say that there’s no town called Virgin River in Northern California. - Virgin River is largely filmed in British Columbia, with a host of locations easily accessible from Vancouver.
- Many of the exterior shots of Virgin River, for example, were taken in the gorgeous little town of Snug Cove on Bowen Island.
- Jack’s Bar, which in real life is known as the Watershed Grill, is found around 40 miles north of Vancouver.
As for Mel’s beautiful log cabin home in Virgin River, that can be found in Murdo Frazer Park in North Vancouver. The cabin has also featured in a range of other productions including Once Upon a Time and A Dog’s Way Home. So if you’re planning a real-life visit to ‘Virgin River’, the good news is that a host of the most memorable settings from the series are all within easy reach of one another.
Do Mel and Jack break up in season 4 of Virgin River?
Virgin River Season 4 Ending Explained – If you recall, Season 3 memorably ended with Jack almost asking Mel to marry him. She stopped him to reveal that she was pregnant, but wasn’t sure if Jack or her deceased husband Mark was the father. Remember when Mel and Jack were on a break earlier in S3 and Mel went to a fertility clinic to access old embryos she’d frozen with Mark? Yeah, that’s why there’s a chance he could be the dad.
- But the timeline doesn’t make much sense, does it? Anyway, the questions of Mel’s baby’s paternity and her and Jack’s fate as a couple loomed over viewers throughout Season 4.
- Thankfully, they were both resolved in the finale.
- Jack asks Mel to marry him and she says yes.
- Hoorah! Two days later, they get the lab results from the paternity test and learn that not only are they having a girl, but that Jack is the baby’s father! It’s great news for everyone, except maybe Dr.
Cameron Hayek (Mark Ghanimé), the handsome new guy who Doc hired to help out at the practice. Photo: Netflix Cameron came, he saw, he crushed on Mel. At one point he told her he didn’t think Jack was right for her, so after Jack and Mel get engaged, Cameron feels stupid and quits his job to head back to San Diego. Mel worries that without Cameron, Doc will be overwhelmed when she goes on maternity leave, so she resigns in hopes that Cameron will stay.
That’s just another thing Doc has to stress over. Between his health struggles, overseeing Hope’s recovery, and connecting with his long-lost grandson Denny (Kai Bradbury) who’s in town visiting, Doc has a lot going on in Season 4. In the finale, Doc tells a stubborn Hope that they need to hire an aid to assist her on a daily basis.
She agrees, and says she wants Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) to do it. But Lizzie’s hesitant because things are weird between her and Denny. At times it seems like Denny wants to be more than friends with Lizzie, but he always pulls away and is infamous for keeping secrets.
- When Denny hears Lizzie might leave Hope hanging because of him, he tells her the truth.
- The reason I can’t be with you is because I don’t have a future.
- I have Huntington’s Disease, which is terminal,” he says.
- While it would obviously be painful for Lizzie strengthen her bond with Denny knowing that his time is limited, she’ll have a lot more free time in Season 5 now that Ricky’s (Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey) out of the picture.
In the finale, Jack, Lizzie, and the rest of Virgin River crew give Ricky a heartfelt sendoff before he hops a bus to join the Marines. Photo: Courtesy of Netflix The episode may have torn Lizzie and Ricky apart, but it brought Brie and Brady closer than ever. Brady recently learned that Brie had been raped by an attorney she was dating in Sacramento, so he’s doing everything he can to be there for her.
Meanwhile, thanks to a tip from Brie, Mike was able to solve the mystery of Jack’s shooting and the DEA dropped all charges against Brady. The gun used to shoot Jack, which was found in Brady’s truck, actually belonged to Vince (Steve Bacic), the twin brother of Paige’s abusive ex-husband Wes. A deputy who was helping local gang leader Calvin launder money admitted to planting the gun.
So what happened to Vince? Preacher handled him. Photo: Courtesy of Netflix Remember how Paige fled town after accidentally killing Wes in Season 3? In Season 4, Vince comes to town and kidnaps her son Christopher (Chase Petriw) to lure her out of hiding. She returns to Virgin River and agrees to trade herself in exchange for her son’s freedom.
So Vince takes Paige to a cabin in the woods, and after Vince admits he shot Jack, Preacher smacks him over the head with a wooden log and he drops to the floor. Like we said, the episode was jam packed! And its final minutes sure didn’t let up. As Brie’s getting into her car, she’s cornered by the attorney who raped her.
He asks her to sign an NDA, but she tells him she’s going to file a police report and press charges. Mel and Jack, who went to a celebratory engagement dinner with their friends Nick and Jo Ellen, are introduced to Nick’s sister, Melissa Montgomery aka gang leader Calvin’s terrifying boss who may or may not have had him killed.
- Someone’s in the parking lot snapping photos of Melissa mingling with Jack and Mel, so those could become an issue down the line.
- Dinner is cut short when Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), the woman who’s pregnant with Jack’s twins, calls him in a panic.
- Jack and Mel rush to her house and find her lying on the floor in pain.
She says she thinks her husband Todd is going to leave her and that she’ll lose the babies. With seconds in the episodes to spare, she tells Jack, “This is karma. I’m being punished. It’s because I lied. The twins — they’re not your babies.” GASP! We need Virgin River Season 5 ASAP, please! : ‘Virgin River’ Season 4 Ending Explained: What Happened in the Finale?

Is Jack the father of Mel’s baby?
Season 4 makes fans wait until the finale to learn the truth: Jack is unequivocally the father of Mel’s baby, and they’re having a little girl.
Did Charmaine have the twins?
After a dramatic revelation in the Season 4 finale, Netflix’s Virgin River leaves a giant question: who is the father of Charmaine’s twins? The following contains spoilers for Virgin River Season 4, now streaming on Netflix. In the finale of Virgin River Season 4, fans finally got confirmation of a theory that had been floating around for a while – Jack is not the father of Charmaine’s unborn twins.
While the revelation was shocking, fans have been speculating about his paternity since Charmaine announced her pregnancy in Season 1. The timeline of the show about this small mountain town has been moving slowly, highlighted by how Charmaine is still pregnant for the duration of Season 4. But even before giving birth to the twins, she unexpectedly confessed to Jack and Mel in a moment of weakness.
Still, the truth has yet to be discovered. Who is the real father of Charmaine’s babies? By the finale of Season 4, “The Long Goodbye,” there was a storyline about fatherhood that needed to be resolved. But it was centered around Mel’s unborn child. So while the episode circled the question of whether Jack was the father of her baby, it took a surprising twist and revealed a secret about Virgin River ‘s other pregnancy – Charmaine’s. During the finale, Jack comforts Charmaine about her worries that her husband Todd is cheating on her. It is clear there is a lot on her mind. Later, he receives an urgent text from Charmaine and hurries across town to help her, with Mel by his side. Charmaine is writhing in pain on the floor, sobbing and desperate.
In that moment, she says this is all karma because, the twins aren’t Jack’s. But who is the father? Charmaine’s revelation does not include the truth. While she is not seen with too many men during the course of Virgin River, there are a few suspects it would be difficult to ignore. The top possibilities are Mike, Todd, and Brady.
One of the most popular fan theories is that Mike, the police investigator, is the father of Charmaine’s twins. Mike served as a Marine with Jack and he seems to have a complicated relationship with his military buddies. During the series, he does a lot of work to help solve the mystery of Jack’s shooting.
- In order to stay on the case, he even breaks up with a long-distance fiancée.
- But the real clue stems from a conversation with Jack, where he tells Mike that he is not ready to be a father.
- When Jack tells Mike that Charmaine is pregnant, Mike’s expression shifts to complete disbelief and shock.
- The intensity of his reaction was so difficult to ignore that it led fans to wonder if he and Charmaine were once a couple.
This would explain why he has remained in Virgin River for so long. It is also possible that Charmaine’s husband, Todd, is the real father. While this seems like the most obvious conclusion, the timeline is complicated. Todd first appears in Season 3, when Charmaine introduces him to Mel and Jack in Jack’s bar.
At this point, Charmaine has already been pregnant for a few months. When she glowingly recalls how she met Todd cutting his hair in her salon, she lets it slip that even though they only met about a month ago, they are already engaged. Todd inserts himself into parenting decisions, such as the birthing plan and hiring a custody lawyer, in ways that frustrate Jack and reveal red flags about Todd.
Charmaine marries Todd in the Season 3 finale, “A Wedding, No Funeral And A Baby,” but their relationship continues to be rocky. Could she have been lying about when they met? Is there a possibility that Todd is the father, but he has no idea? The father could also be Brady. Another Marine buddy of Jack’s, Brady charms the ladies of Virgin River but is not held in high regard. Despite trying to clean up his act, he continuously finds himself in trouble, like stealing money from Jack’s bar, getting involved with drug rings, and being framed for shooting Jack.
- In Season 3, Brady meets and falls in love with Jack’s sister, Brie.
- While he stays committed to his relationship with Brie, this is after Charmaine gets pregnant.
- Could Brady have been in a casual relationship with Charmaine at the same time as Jack? It would hardly be an affair for anyone involved, as Jack and Charmaine were not serious.
But it would still be shocking for Jack to find out that someone he once called a friend was actively deceiving him. Only time will tell who is the real father of Charmaine’s unborn twins. It could even be someone entirely new to the show. But, in true Virgin River style, the dramatic reveal is sure to be a complete surprise.
Is Virgin River a real place?
Is Virgin River a real place? – Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan, Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe in Virgin River Netflix In the series, Virgin River is a remote town located in northern California with small, tight-knit population. Unfortunately for fans hoping to visit the idyllic-looking town, Virgin River is not a real place – so don’t book your plane ticket just yet.
Does Jack find out Charmaine’s babies aren’t his?
‘I’m being punished. It’s because I lied. The twins— they’re not your babies,’ she tearfully confesses to Jack.
Are Charmaine’s kids really Jacks?
Hit me baby, one more time. Warning: This article contains spoilers about Virgin River season 4, Season 3 ends with a cliffhanger (on an actual cliff) as Mel ( Alexandra Breckenridge ) reveals to an about-to-propose Jack ( Martin Henderson ) that she is pregnant — and she doesn’t know whether he or her late husband Mark is the father.
- The question looms large over the Netflix series’ fourth season, with Jack initially extremely reluctant to take a paternity test and get an answer once and for all.
- I don’t know if my curiosity could stand not knowing,” Henderson says of his own take on the situation.
- But it was a really interesting take that the writers chose, where they gave Jack this perspective of, ‘Okay, I’m going to be the father to this woman I love’s child, but it may not be my own.’ One would assume you have the same relationship to that child but there is a selfishness to people too, and this idea of it’s not mine, so will I have the same degree of connection to this child? Biology isn’t the defining factor of love.
But it was interesting that Jack, who is a man who doesn’t know that from experience, has doubts. So it’s an interesting ride they go along that they then try and navigate that and be respectful of the other’s individual take on it and all that drama that ensues from it.” Virgin River season 4 “I can’t imagine having that be something massively unanswered in my life,” Breckenridge adds. “Mark and Jack look very different, so I feel like eventually you’re going to figure it out.” And figure it out eventually, they do — with the longed-for confirmation that Jack is the father coming on the heels of his successful marriage proposal.
It’s a good thing too — since the season ends on another massive revelation, the fact that Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) twins are not actually Jack’s after all. “In all honesty, there were several different possibilities for the outcome and I was advocating strongly that it was Jack’s baby,” explains Breckenridge.
“Because I was just like, ‘Gosh, how horrible would that be if he’s having twins with Charmaine and then the love of his life is having a baby from her dead husband?’ This sounds terrible.” “But then by the end of the season, we find out that Charmaine’s babies are not actually Jack’s anyway,” she continues.
- That would be even worse.
- He’s having no children.
- He thought he was having three children, now he’s having no children.
- I was really happy about the outcome.
- The two of them want that life together so much.
- It’s so powerful and strong between them that if it was Mark’s, it just felt like it was the past coming up again.
They would have dealt with that. Jack would have had a more difficult time than Mel. But luckily, we don’t have to find that out.” Virgin River season 4 is now streaming on Netflix. Related content: Virgin River

Who does Mel marry in Virgin River?
‘Virgin River’: Alexandra Breckenridge on Mel & Jack’s ‘Sweet’ Romantic Moment Like the previous three seasons, the fourth of is an emotional rollercoaster, but it looks like nothing could have prepared Mel () and Jack () for the shocking announcement that ends it. First, in happy news: The couple is finally engaged and Mel’s baby is Jack’s.
- But the season ends in a cliffhanger (thankfully it’s already been renewed!): Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) calls, upset.
- When they find her, she’s having trouble breathing, and as they await an ambulance, she reveals that her twins aren’t actually Jack’s.
- TV Insider caught up with Breckenridge to discuss those big moments and more.
We have to talk about that Charmaine twist at the end. We only see Jack’s shock when she reveals he’s not the twins’ father. How’s Mel feeling? It’s a betrayal, right? Given they were working to make the situation work. Alexandra Breckenridge: It’s true.
I think it’s most devastating to Jack honestly. Just being betrayed for both of them is devastating. That’s a huge betrayal. That’s a big, big lie and they’ve really stretched themselves thin to accommodate and create this environment in which they can all co-parent and have this family and they find out it’s a lie.
I personally, as an actress was like, “Please let those babies not be Jack’s.” “Let’s not do that.” So I was personally very happy. I was like, “Great!” Courtesy Of Netflix Also in the finale, Mel tells Doc that she’s resigning, but he wasn’t on board with that. So what can you say about her mindset when it comes to her career and what’s next? I don’t think she wants to just completely quit her job. Her job’s extremely important to her.
I just think she’s trying to be realistic about potential complications with her pregnancy and what that could mean for Doc’s clinic and how important she knows that that clinic is to the town. It’s extremely necessary for the town to have a medical facility because the closest one besides Doc’s is like two hours away.
So for her, it’s not just about what she wants, it’s what she knows is best for the town. But I don’t think she’s going to step away forever. In very happy news, talk about filming the proposal because we were waiting for that! I know! I can’t say that I was surprised, but I was — it was so sweet, was it not? It was very sweet.
- Jack gave her this lovely speech and it was just so romantic.
- We were actually filming on a lake — it wasn’t a green screen or anything — and I was like, “This is the place where you want to get engaged.
- Yes, absolutely.
- This is so lovely and so sweet.” I’m happy that they did that at the end of the season.
That was a pleasant surprise. Courtesy Of Netflix How is Mel feeling about her and Jack’s future at the end of the season? Optimistic? Because they’re getting married, found out that he’s the father, he’s getting help with his drinking. So things are definitely looking up for them.
- Yes. I’m just trying to track back in my mind where exactly we are, because we literally just got off of the Zoom table read for Season 5, Episodes 1 and 2.
- So I’m like, “Wait, where are we now? Oh, yeah.” From where Mel came at the beginning of Season 1 to now, I don’t think that she ever imagined that she could find love again, let alone be pregnant again.
Obviously that’s been kind of a ghost for her throughout the seasons, that she’s always wanted to have children and never really thought that she could. So at this point, she’s in a really good place besides that sort of needle scratch at the end of the season where Charmaine says she’s been lying to them the entire time.
- She’s just in this blissful place.
- You said you just got off the table read, so what can you tease about the kind of wedding that Mel and Jack are going to have? Because they briefly touch on in the finale.
- You know what, I haven’t gotten to that part.
- We don’t have that yet.
- I don’t know if they get married this season or not.
I’m not sure. We go so slowly. If you wanted to check in on tracking Charmaine’s pregnancy, we go very slowly. I think it’s only like three or four months since Mel has been in Virgin River? So I don’t know that they’ll get married or not in Season 5. Genuinely, I don’t know yet.
Related Will we be getting more Mel and Brie scenes? I love that friendship so much. I know, I do, too. I’ve been asking for that since the second she came to town. Zibby and I have formed a very fast friendship just as people, so we get along swimmingly and I’m really hoping that they can write to that going forward.
Also, Mel doesn’t have any other friends in Virgin River. It’s kind of unfortunate. Through Season 4, she’s not able to really talk to many people other than Jack about what’s really going on for her. I found that kind of isolating and troublesome for her character.
- And Hope’s recovering. Yeah.
- She can’t really connect with Hope.
- She doesn’t want to burden Doc, even though she accidentally does at some point because she’s emotional about the stillbirth that she delivers.
- She doesn’t have another touchstone in Virgin River besides Jack at the moment, so I’m hoping that we can develop some more friendships for her going forward in Season 5.

Does Virgin River have an ending?
Who is Denny and is he sick? – Anyone who’s dived into Virgin River season 4 fresh after a Virgin River season 3 recap will no doubt remember newcomer Kai Bradbury appearing in the finale as a mysterious stranger looking for his grandfather, Vernon ‘Doc’ Mullins. (Image credit: Cr. This is a devastating diagnosis for Denny who has fallen head over heels for Lizzie and it’s not known how their relationship might go on from his admission as Virgin River continues.
