Help! This is normal. Monistat-1 is a single dose vaginal cream/tablet used to treat a vaginal yeast infection. The cream is designed to stay within the vagina to work without having to reapply every day for seven days. It is normal to get some medicine leakage/discharge.

If needed, it is recommended to use a sanitary napkin rather than a tampon to prevent staining of clothing and bed linens.

Can I sit down after using Monistat?

How long does it take miconazole to dissolve?

Instructions – Dissolve the tablet completely in your mouth, and swallow the medicine as it dissolves. Do not chew or swallow the tablet whole. Change the location of the medicine in the mouth with each dose to avoid irritation. Gently remove pill from bottle with dry hands just before taking the medicine.

1. The tablet will dissolve slowly over several hours.
2. You may eat and drink with the tablet in place, but do not brush your teeth, chew gum, or wear an upper denture until the tablet dissolves.
3. You may gently rinse with water.
4. If the tablet comes off within 6 hours, reapply the same tablet right away.
5. If it will not stay in place, apply a new tablet.

If you accidentally swallow the tablet within 6 hours, drink a glass of water and apply a new tablet. If you swallow the tablet or it falls off after 6 hours, you do not need to reapply it or use a new one. With dry hands, apply the round side of the tablet to the upper gum, above the tooth to the left or right of your upper, front teeth.

• Gently press on the outside of upper lip for 30 seconds.
• Use this medicine after brushing your teeth.
• This medicine will work best if you take it at about the same time every day.
• Store at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture.
• Do not keep in the bathroom.
• If you forget to take a dose on time, take it as soon as you remember.

If it is almost time for the next dose, do not take the missed dose. Return to your normal schedule. Do not take 2 doses at one time. Drug interactions can change how medicines work or increase risk for side effects. Tell your health care providers about all medicines taken.

Include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal medicines. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medicine. Tell your doctor if symptoms do not get better or if they get worse. Keep using this medicine for the full number of days that it is prescribed.

Do not stop the medicine even if you start to feel better. Do not take the medicine more than once during 24 hours.
