• Apparently not on AMC’s The Walking Dead,
• This past fall, the first half of season three brought us back into the closet with the characters of Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Andrea (Laurie Holden).

But when you’re on a show where women characters are seen only in relation to men — does a lesbian even have a chance? Let alone a same-sex interracial couple? Straight white women find it difficult enough in this version of the zombie apocalypse — and not just because of the apocalypse.

1. One of these women, Carol (Melissa McBride), loses her abusive husband to a walker attack — but it’s a short-lived liberation, because she soon loses her daughter, too.
2. By the end of season two, she has no traditional familial connections in the group.
3. One of the men, Daryl (Norman Reedus), also lacks these connections.

Yet during an altercation, he lashes out at her: “You’re afraid because you’re all alone. You got no husband, no daughter. You don’t know what to do with yourself. And you ain’t my problem!” A man can be alone. But in the patriarchal realm of The Walking Dead, a woman needs someone else to give her life meaning.

• Not only that — a woman without a man is vulnerable.
• In season one, Andrea lost her sister to walkers and also has no family left in the group.
• But in season two, she resurrects herself and fights alongside the men, and (surprise) becomes more direct in her purpose and desires.
• Whether it’s her sexual pursuit of Shane (Jon Bernthal), her rebuff of Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) as a father figure, or her defiance when Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) admonishes her to help out with laundry, Andrea is a woman who knows what she wants — and in the manly world of the undead, that is dangerous.

When Hershel’s (Scott Wilson) farm is attacked by walkers, Carol rides away on the back of Daryl’s motorcycle. Andrea — without a man — is left to fend for herself in zombie woods. Not that she doesn’t kick ass. When Andrea runs out of ammo, she uses everything from the pistol grip of her gun to her hands, and finally has nothing but rage to throw at the undead.

• Enter the hooded stranger who intervenes with a katana sword, and leads two armless/ jawless zombies on chains.
• The hood obscures race and gender of this character, so whoever saves Andrea initially exists outside of The Walking Dead patriarchy.
• Season three starts with “Seed”, which takes place about seven months later.

On a drugstore run, katana in hand, the stranger is revealed: Michonne, a black woman with the hardened stare of a fighter, who methodically kills zombies, then shakes their blood off her blade. Yet her demeanor changes when she returns to Andrea who lies sick in a game cooler.

• As Michonne administers aspirin, the hardened stare transforms into a look of concern.
• In television, film and literature, a black woman acting as caretaker for a white woman (or anyone white) is a potentially racist trope.
• The character can become one-dimensional, seen only in relation to the white characters.

Unfortunately, the trope fits into The Walking Dead patriarchy where people of color are often voiceless or only heard when they connect to white characters. Consider whether Glenn (Steven Yeun), an Asian man, would have a story without Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Consider why T-Dog (IronE Singleton), who for a while was the only black man in the group, was never given a story at all (unless you count his death as a story). Consider Oscar (Vincent Ward), one of the prisoners, who is also black. He survives until the mid-season finalé, but ends up being killed on the rescue mission to Woodbury.

Is there a limit to how many people of color are represented in the zombie apocalypse? The season three mid-season finalé did introduce two new characters who are black: Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and his sister Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green). But unfortunately, their presence doesn’t ensure that their voices will be heard.

• At the start of season three, there was hope that maybe the relationship between Michonne and Andrea could open up an exploration of race, particularly because Andrea somewhat challenges Michonne’s caretaker role.
• She reminds her: “I can take care of myself.
• I saved your ass all winter, didn’t I?” Rejecting the idea that Michonne should die for her, Andrea pushes for equal ground, likely driven by the same forces that shaped her previous life as a civil rights attorney.

She may also be motivated by her need to survive on her own terms, to not take anyone down with her, and to hold her own. Michonne likely shares this stance, which probably contributed to their survival. Despite Andrea’s illness, they decide to leave their location together, so the walkers do not catch up to them.

But the post-apocalyptic world has not eradicated racism (or classism, homophobia and sexism for that matter). If Andrea really wants equal ground with Michonne, then she must keep confronting her privilege. Yet outside of their first scene, she fails to do this throughout the first half of season three.

The premise of The Walking Dead provides many opportunities to study privilege. Who lives on the farm vs. who lives in the RV, who sleeps in the woods vs. who drinks the Woodbury tea — you can have comfort, freedom and peace, but at what cost? The scene in the game cooler provides only a brief view of what Michonne and Andrea’s relationship might have been if the writers had continued to develop a relationship that questions privilege.

• Alas, that seems to be the revolution that never was.
• Still, they continue to have an intense relationship.
• Does that mean they are lesbians? Or could one or both of them be bisexual? That could be even more plausible.
• Yet maybe it’s asking too much of mainstream television to consider different sexual orientations outside of straight and gay, to view the exploration of sexuality not as an “enticing twist”, but something as real as two people — of whatever gender identity or sexual orientation — falling for each other.

Some could argue that they are two straight women with a strong, albeit non-sexual connection. Isn’t it radical enough to have any kind of friendship in this chaotic new world? In an interview with MSN Entertainment, Laurie Holden, the actor who plays Andrea, discussed with apparent exasperation how viewers assume that “if Andrea and Michonne are close, it must be a romantic relationship.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that but it really is a pure, best friendship between two women who love each other like family.” However, she then added that “at the beginning of the season, I sat down in the writers’ room and they were toying with that idea, And I said to them, ‘I don’t have a problem with it but I think it’s a cliché.’ ” A woman of color and a white woman in love on a critically-acclaimed television show with millions of viewers would not be a cliché.

It would be progress. Holden’s interview uncovers why this relationship is portrayed with such ambivalence—the writers may not have entirely given up their intention to make them a couple. And viewers have sensed the “are they or aren’t they” dynamic. Yet when executive producer Robert Kirkman was interviewed by TVLine in October 2012, he provided an open-ended answer on whether there was any sexual tension between Michonne and Andrea: “There’s certainly not any indication of that thus far, but that remains to be seen.

You never know.” However, when we listen to the dialogue or observe the characters’ physicality or take note of the inflection of their speech or watch the way they look at each other, we do know. Their story does not read as “straight”. I saved your ass all winter, In “Seed”, a feverish Andrea smiles weakly at Michonne.

That smile reveals their emotional bond, how their relationship is about more than survival. Michonne, who is forever vigilant and wary of everyone and everything, stares back at Andrea with a look of completion, a look that speaks familiarity and comfort.

Despite the surrounding chaos and the traumatic nature of their existence, despite being in the throes of illness, Andrea’s smile uncovers a shared experience of pleasure between them. They have built something with each other. There is also a strong physicality between the two women, particularly in the episode “Walk With Me”.

Michonne caresses Andrea’s back when she coughs. At one point as they watch The Governor (David Morrissey) and his group survey the helicopter scene in the woods, Andrea places her hand on Michonne’s thigh. When they are captured and taken to Woodbury, their physical connection and emotional closeness is apparent to others, because they are given one room with one bed.

1. The Governor escorts them to this bedroom.
2. It’s a test: a way to see how much they trust him, what they will say, what they will reveal on this first night.
3. He doesn’t get far.
4. Michonne is quick to shut the door on him.
5. The problem is (and the writers know this) that door also shuts out the audience.
6. We do not see what happens behind closed doors — how they make sense of that first night or how they connect to each other in that room.

Instead, we are given a scene during the day with Michonne and Andrea walking past quaint shops through the lively streets of Woodbury. What better place for the writers to infuse subtext, because there’s so much we say and don’t say when others may be listening.

1. As they walk, it’s clear that Andrea has already benefited from the Woodbury system because she has healed from her illness.
2. This eases her transition from outsider to community member, as she effortlessly takes her position of unquestioned privilege.
3. Unlike Michonne, Andrea doesn’t even ask what this comfort and safety may cost them or what it may cost others.

When they argue about whether they should stay for a day or two more, Andrea takes a righteous approach. She is the one who has completely opened her life to Michonne. But Michonne has stayed closed. “Have you ever trusted anybody?” she asks. Andrea doesn’t show any interest in why she may not offer the same openness.

Instead, the inference is that Michonne needs to change in order to stay in Woodbury. The burden is on her. Yet Michonne implies that there are good reasons for not being forthcoming: “You know enough.” She doesn’t maliciously speak these words. She just expresses her limits. But she appears hurt that Andrea cannot acknowledge what has been given, and seems taken aback by the mention of trust because if she has ever trusted anyone, it was Andrea.

What used to feel safe to Andrea was her world with Michonne — both of them in the fight together, that was her protection. Now Andrea is experiencing a world where she doesn’t have to fight in order to feel safe. It feels good, so she doesn’t want to question it, even though she needs to.

Andrea gets into an argument with Lori regarding their different roles in the group. Andrea thinks Lori takes for granted that she still has a husband, son, and baby on the way, while everyone else has lost a lot.

During the farm attack, Andrea saves Carol’s life, but is left behind when she falls down and the others think she’s been killed.

1. She’s forced to survive on her own and runs through the woods for hours on end, taking out some random zombies as she goes.
2. Andrea runs out of ammo and it looks like the end for her, but then a mysterious figure appears and saves her.
3. Andrea considers herself a liability for and tells Michonne to just leave her behind, but she refuses.

When she and Michonne end up at Woodbury, Andrea wants to leave right away even though they’ve given her medicine. However, after talking to and seeing more of Woodbury, she becomes more inclined to stay, wanting a secure place to live. Andrea gives Merle a map and tells him where the farm was so that he can try to find Daryl.

She keeps delaying the idea of leaving, telling Michonne that they can go whenever they want. Andrea is curious as to why the Governor keeps zombies around, but she still confronts Michonne about her attitude and actions. Even when it means going against Michonne, she decides to stay, wishing Michonne would stay too.

Andrea is initially horrified by the gladiator battle taking place, but later admits that she understands the point of it all, especially since the zombies’ teeth were removed. She then tells the Governor that she wants to contribute to the community.

The two of them hook up. Andrea helps Milton with his experiment, although she knows it’s pointless considering she knows from scientific evidence that zombies are no longer who they once were. Andrea wants to help fight during the battle in Woodbury, but reluctantly agrees to make sure everyone else is safe instead.

She then stops Michonne from killing the Governor and is confused by the zombie heads in his aquarium and the fact that he’d kept his daughter “alive”. However, she still comforts him over his wound and buys his story. She’s shocked when the Governor sets up a fight between Merle and Daryl.

2. Andrea is a bit overwhelmed by all of the information, and by Carol telling her to kill the Governor in his sleep.
3. When she gets back to Woodbury, she tells the Governor about her going there.

She sleeps with him and then almost carries out Carol’s plan, but is unable to. Andrea sets up a meeting and tries to convince both him and Rick to stand down. She’s kicked out of the building by both of them. Because of something Rick said, Andrea asks Hershel what happened to Maggie.

• Hershel responds by saying he’s a sick man, and although she doesn’t know the specifics of what that means, she knows it’s not good.
• Even though she goes back to Woodbury and tells the Governor that she hopes whatever deal he came up with works out, she’s clearly less convinced by him than ever.
• When she sees his torture room, she almost shoots him but is stopped by Milton.

Andrea then leaves Woodbury to go inform Rick and the others of what’s happening. She’s forced to not only survive against zombies, but run from the Governor, who’s chasing her. Andrea makes it to the prison, but before Rick sees her, she’s captured by the Governor, and winds up in his torture chamber.

• She is forced to watch Milton slowly die while trying to free herself from her restraints.
• When he asks why she didn’t go back to her friends, Andrea says that she just wanted to save everyone.
• She’s able to break free and kill the zombified Milton but not before he bites her.
• When Rick, Daryl, and Michonne find her, she’s happy to hear that everyone else is still alive.

She says that no one can make it alone. Andrea takes Rick’s gun and shoots herself in the head. Andrea is one of only a few of the original group to still be alive in the comics. Despite some instances scattered throughout the first three seasons, Andrea was never as well received in the show as she always has been in the comics, mostly attributed to her utter ignorance in regard to The Governor in S3.

While she does become depressed after having to shoot her sister in the head when Amy is bitten and killed, Andrea never tries to kill herself. Andrea becomes proficient at shooting and more of a leader as time goes on, becoming one of the most valuable members of the group. advertisement She helps clear out the prison when the group finds it.

Andrea receives a knife wound on her face and an injured ear when Thomas, a dangerous prisoner, attacks her. He’s killed soon after. She forms a relationship with Dale, and the two of them make the commitment to take care of two twin boys after their parents are killed.

She also considers leaving with them to try to find a safer place to live. Andrea is never in Woodbury. She stays at the prison while Rick, Glenn, and Michonne are there, and she helps keep things together. When preparing for an attack from the town, she helps train others with firearms. During the confrontation, Andrea uses a sniper rifle to take out some of the enemies.

Even though she’s hit by a bullet in her head/face, it only temporarily knocks her out, and she’s back to fighting when she comes to. Andrea, Dale, Maggie, Glenn, Sophia, and the twin boys leave in the RV before another attack takes place. However, she comes back by herself to help out when it happens again.

Does Andrea shoot Daryl?

Plot – In the opening flashback, Lori and Shane, escaping to a refugee center at the onset of the walker epidemic, watch in horror as military helicopters drop napalm on Atlanta. In the present, the survivors continue their search for the missing Sophia.

Hershel expresses his concern to Rick that his group has gotten too comfortable on his farmlands. Hershel is particularly concerned on how close Glenn and his daughter Maggie appear to be. Meanwhile, Glenn accidentally learns Lori is pregnant, and she asks him to keep it a secret from Rick. During a search party, Shane tells Rick the search is pointless and they should continue on to Fort Benning,

Rick later confides in Lori that Shane may be right. Lori privately confronts Shane, reminding him that her and Carl’s well-being are no longer his problem. Daryl goes out on horseback searching for Sophia, eventually coming across her doll in a river bed.

1. As he follows the river, a snake frightens his horse and he is thrown, and is severely wounded by one of his crossbow bolts in the fall.
2. He starts to hallucinate his missing brother Merle, who berates him for spending more time searching for Sophia than him.
3. Daryl wakes in time to find a walker chewing on his shoe; he quickly dispatches it and another approaching walker, and takes their ears as a trophy necklace.

Daryl limps towards the farm, and from a distance, is mistaken as a walker; Andrea shoots him, grazing his head and knocking him unconscious. Rick reaches Daryl first, and hides the walker ear necklace before Hershel can see it. Daryl is treated and when he wakes, tells Carol what he had found, for which she is grateful.

Carol and Lori attempt to repay Hershel for his hospitality by cooking dinner, but tensions remain high. Maggie discreetly passes Glenn a note asking him when they can have sex again. However, both Hershel and Dale Horvath witness this. Glenn writes a reply and returns the note. After dinner, Maggie reads Glenn’s reply and is horrified as he promised to wait in the barn for her.

She rushes to try to stop him but is too late as Glenn discovers the barn is filled with walkers.

Does Andrea join Rick again?

Walking Dead: 10 years ago Andrea reunites with Rick’s group Andrea (Laurie Holden) – The Walking Dead – Season 2, Episode 4 – Photo Credit: Gene Page/AMC On Feb.24, 2013, AMC aired season 3, episode 11 of The Walking Dead, titled This episode marked the first reunion between Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group since the farm fell in the finale episode of season 2.

• After walkers overran Hershel’s (Scott Wilson) farm at the end of season 2, the group met on the highway and took inventory of their missing members.
• T-Dog (IronE Singleton) stated he saw Andrea go down.
• Viewers would know she yelled for help but was unheard above all the growls of the walkers.
• She would later be saved by Michonne (Danai Gurira), eventually reunite with Merle (Michael Rooker), and move to Woodbury.

There she would form an unhealthy attachment with the Governor (David Morrisey).

Why was Andrea so sick?

Season 3 – It is revealed in this season that Andrea and Michonne (the hooded figure that saved Andrea’s life in the Season 2 finale) have taken refuge at a game cooler, where Andrea is sick from influenza. Michonne raids a local pharmacy, bringing Andrea aspirin.

Andrea unsuccessfully tries to convince Michonne to leave her, saying she can take care of herself. Andrea, however, is successful at convincing Michonne that they need to move out now instead of waiting a few days like Michonne had originally planned due to the walkers that surround their location. Andrea, Michonne, and her two pet Walkers flee out of a back entrance of the game building.

While traveling on the road, Andrea and Michonne see mysterious plumes of smoke rising in the distance. Going to investigate, they discover a crashed helicopter. Andrea stays hidden in the bushes while Michonne investigates, until the arrival of The Governor and his group.

Michonne kills her pet walkers, attempting to prevent the men from detecting their presence. However, an unidentified person sneaks up on them, and a man’s voice instructs them to lower their weapons and turn around. As Andrea and Michonne comply with the request, the man holding them at gunpoint is revealed to be Merle Dixon.

Surprised to see Merle, Andrea passes out. Andrea drifts in and out of consciousness while riding in a vehicle, but notices a dead corpse hanging from a tree and several abandoned vehicles before entering Woodbury. She is then taken care of by Dr. Stevens while Michonne watches.

Merle comes into the room and asks about Daryl. Andrea tells him briefly what has transpired since she last saw him. The Governor arrives, but refuses to allow them to leave after dark or return the women their weapons. He also reveals that they are all infected, and that everyone will come back as walkers no matter how they die.

The Governor shows Andrea and Michonne outside and welcomes them to Woodbury, showing off his impressive fence they have built around the town, and how they protect it. The following day Andrea and Michonne learn more about Woodbury from Rowan. Andrea seems to be impressed by The Governor and his accomplishment of creating a safe town, though Michonne seems more hesitant to trust him.

Andrea grows tired of Michonne’s aloof nature, telling her that she knows little to nothing about her. Andrea is friendly with The Governor when he returns from his mission to find Lieutenant Welles’ comrades. Andrea is preparing to leave Woodbury with Michonne, who says they should head for the coast and perhaps find a boat.

Andrea is skeptical of this plan, but knows Michonne is suspicious of The Governor. Andrea gives a map to Merle, so that he can find Hershel’s farm and search for Daryl. She talks to The Governor one last time, and he tells her his name is Philip. She returns to Michonne, reluctant to leave, and convinces her to stay in Woodbury a little longer.

Woodbury is busy preparing for a day of celebrating as part of a party put on by Philip. Andrea enjoys the day’s festivities, including cold drinks and an inspiring toast by Philip. When she questions Milton Mamet about the big event for the night, he avoids telling her. She is told later by Merle that Philip wants to talk to her, and that it is urgent.

Philip informs her that Michonne has broken into a private area and slayed a group of captive Walkers, and that she threatened Philip with her sword. When Andrea asks why he was keeping Walkers captive, Philip does not give her the answer just yet. Going back to the room she shares with Michonne, Andrea asks an agitated Michonne why she did those things.

1. You’re freaking me out,” Andrea says, watching her hurriedly pack their things.
2. Michonne continues to go on about how suspicious Woodbury really is, and Andrea says, “You are not making any sense.” However, she decides to leave with her anyway.
3. As the pair of them are walking towards the gate to leave, Merle spots them and prevents them from going.

He speaks briefly to a guard, and when Andrea tries to talk to him, he says, “I’m going to need you to back up.” Confused, she turns to Michonne and asks if they can stay a little while longer. Andrea says that Woodbury is the refuge they have been seeking for 8 months, and that they should stay.

Michonne gives her an ultimatum: either come with her, or stay in Woodbury without her. When Andrea hesitates, Michonne scoffs, “You just slowed me down anyway”, and leaves her. Later, while she is sitting at a bench and feeling hurt, Philip approaches Andrea. He comforts her, saying he has something in mind that will help blow off steam.

That night, Andrea and the rest of Woodbury look on as Merle and Martinez face off in an arena of Walkers. The two men kick and punch each other, surrounded by Walkers, while Philip and the rest of Woodbury cheer. Andrea becomes angry, accusing Philip of being “sick”.

Philip pulls her aside and says that they have pulled out the zombies’ teeth, so that the men cannot be harmed and that it is just for fun. Philip says that he is teaching the people to be brave. Andrea still appears upset by this, as Merle defeats his opponent. Carl, still believing that Andrea is dead, mentions her when listing the names of deceased female members of the group as possible names for the newborn baby.

Andrea has been accepted as a member of Woodbury now, and wants to contribute in any way she can. She asks Philip if she can guard the wall, and he agrees. Andrea meets Haley while guarding the wall, who reveals that she had lost her father and brother.

1. When a walker approaches, she fails to kill it with her bow.
2. Andrea jumps from the wall, knocking down the walker and stabbing it in the head.
3. Later, she is scolded by Philip, who does not want anyone leaving the wall.
4. Andrea admits that she actually liked the arena fighting, but it bothered her to like them.

Philip assures her nothing is wrong with liking a fight. Sparks fly between the two later, and she ends up kissing him. They get more passionate later on, and she ends up having sex with him. Andrea is invited by The Governor to witness Milton’s conduction of an experiment on the ailing Michael Coleman.

Andrea questions if Milton has ever seen reanimation, to which he denies and explains that he was an only child and his parents had passed away while he was young. She later witnesses Michael reanimating and Milton repeats the experiment. The walker grips onto the bed and Milton believes that it was a positive response.

Andrea believes it was just a random reanimation reaction. Milton unties Michael’s restraints and repeats the experiment once more. The reanimated Michael does not hesitate and pounces on him, but before he can bite him, Andrea stabs it in the head while Milton, shaken, states that he will study his work and walks off.

Andrea informs The Governor that she wants to assist Milton in cremating Mr. Coleman; he remarks that “Woodbury’s starting to grow on you.” She is later seen with The Governor as he assembles a group to kill Rick and the other intruders. She volunteers to help the others, but The Governor insists that she stay behind; she nonetheless takes a gun and helps the guards shoot at Rick and the others, though she can’t identify them due to the smoke.

She spots Oscar and fires at him, but misses her shots. Andrea later discovers The Governor, who had been mutilated by Michonne, and draws her gun at the latter, but doesn’t fire. After approaching The Governor to comfort him, Andrea notices the tanks containing the severed heads of walkers and the corpse of Penny.

• She demands to know why he had them there.
• The Governor gives her a vague answer about the heads before brushing her next question about Penny off.
• Andrea is later seen at the gathering of Woodbury citizens when The Governor denounces Merle a traitor and is shocked when he reveals their prisoner to be Daryl.

Andrea tries to talk Philip out of the deathmatch between Daryl and Merle, but to no avail. When the Woodbury survivors are distraught after the attack, Andrea manages to deliver a motivational speech, telling them that they have to persevere and assist in calming them down.

• Andrea also learns that her old group were the ones responsible for attacking Woodbury and causing the death of seven residents.
• The Governor visits Andrea, requesting her to take over leadership of Woodbury, insisting that he had “screwed up.” Andrea later goes searching for Martinez and The Governor, who both went missing.

Milton dodges her question, suggesting that The Governor may have went on a supply run. Andrea, however, doesn’t believe his claims and walks off. Andrea talks with The Governor, who tells her that the prison group attacked them first while he was simply attempting to negotiate.

• He tells her that they are “bloodthirsty.” He also tells her that if she goes to the prison, she is to stay there.
• Andrea talks with Milton, and wants him to cover for her as she sneaks out to go the prison to make peace between Woodbury and the prison group.
• Milton and Andrea capture a walker in the woods to use as a deterrent.

Andrea hacks both of the walker’s arms off and then uses a rock to curb-stomp the walker’s teeth out to prevent it from biting. Andrea and Milton are saved by Tyreese Williams’s group when another walker appears. Andrea arrives at the prison, learning of the fates of Shane, Lori, and T-Dog.

1. Andrea tries to make peace, but Rick and the others make it clear that they want to retaliate against Woodbury and The Governor.
2. Andrea learns that The Governor lied about who shot first from Rick, and Andrea’s negotiation ends when Rick storms off after Andrea refuses to get them inside of Woodbury.

Andrea accuses Michonne of poisoning the group, but Michonne argues that she was telling them the truth. While talking with Carol, Carol tells her to sleep with The Governor and give him the best night of his life, and then to kill him while his guard is down.

• Before departing, the group gives her a car and Rick hands her a handgun and a knife.
• She arrives back to Woodbury and sleeps with The Governor.
• While he is asleep, she stands over his bedside with a knife, contemplating Carol’s plan.
• Andrea, however, puts the knife away and peers out of the window, unable to go through with the killing.

Andrea, along with Milton and Martinez arrive at an abandoned farm’s barn as set by her, in order to get Rick and Philip to talk about the situation between the two groups. Andrea then, noticing the meeting began without her, strides inside the barn and tries to mediate the situation but is told by Rick that he knows about the raids, the heads and about Maggie.

Later, she tells the both of them to calm down after Philip demands Rick’s surrender, and is then kicked out by The Governor. While waiting outside the barn, a small group of walkers approaches Andrea, Daryl, Hershel, Milton and Martinez, which causes Andrea, Daryl and Martinez to go kill them. Andrea asks Hershel what Philip did to Maggie, which he answers saying “He’s a sick man.” Andrea is in despair and says she can’t go back to Woodbury.

Hershel agrees that she belongs at the prison, but warns her that once she leaves, she can’t go back. When Rick and Philip are done talking, all of them enter in their cars, causing Andrea to join Woodbury again. When they get back to Woodbury, Philip thanks her for setting up the meeting, but doesn’t tell her about his plan of killing Michonne and the rest of the group.

Andrea says she is glad she could help. Milton tells Andrea about how he saw the torture room that Philip made for Michonne. He takes her to see it, and they look at all the tools that Philip plans to use. Milton tells her to go to the prison and tell them that they have to leave. She instead says that she must kill Philip.

He walks in, and Andrea, in an overlooking room, points her gun through the shutters on the window. Milton forces her to put it down. Later, Martinez tells her to give him her gun, for “precautions”. Andrea is later seen climbing over a wall that Tyreese and Sasha are guarding.

1. Tyreese tries to stop her, only to have Andrea pull a knife on him.
2. After a little negotiation, they allow her to leave.
3. She starts a steady run, knowing that Philip will soon find out.
4. She is running down an unknown road when she hears a car.
5. She runs into the near woods and hides behind a tree.
6. She is grabbed from behind by a walker, and two more approach her.

She blocks them with her leg, and then kills them. She is next seen in an empty field when she hears the car again. She ducks down, but it’s too late. Philip starts following her as she runs away. She goes through some debris, and Philip has to go around.

1. She winds up at an abandoned warehouse.
2. While inside, she accidentally tips over a bucket of tools, alerting Philip.
3. She ends up finding a door.
4. She opens it, finding many walkers on the stairwell inside.
5. She closes the door, and turns around, seeing that she is cornered by Philip.
6. She opens the door again and hides behind it, allowing the walkers to attack him.

She finds a way out and leaves. She later arrives at the prison, trying to signal Rick, who is on guard in a watchtower. She is then grabbed and pulled down by Philip. Rick sees this out of the corner of his eye, and aims his rifle down there, only to come up empty.

1. Philip somehow makes his way back.
2. She is then seen, chained to a chair in the torture room.
3. Andrea is seen still restrained to The Governor’s torture chair.
4. After Milton is beaten by The Governor, he is ordered to kill Andrea.
5. When he refuses and attempts to kill The Governor instead, he is stopped and stabbed by The Governor and left to die but not before Milton leaves some pliers behind the chair.

He tells Andrea about the pliers and orders her to stab him in the head once she frees herself. She tries to kick the pliers so she can grab them but she cannot in her boots. She takes off her boots to get the pliers more quickly as Milton slowly dies.

After some struggle, she gets them and begins to free herself. As she begins to cut through her restraints, Milton reanimates. She manages to get one arm free as the now undead Milton stands up, ready to attack. She tries desperately to get the other arm free but is too late, for as she stands up, Milton bites her.

She quickly dispatches Milton before falling to the floor. Later, Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Tyreese, and Sasha arrive at the torture room and find a pool of blood outside the door. They go in, find Milton’s body, and find a bitten Andrea sitting against the wall.

What episode does Andrea come back?

The Walking Dead Brings Back Long-Dead Character In Bizarre Way For Michonne’s Final Episode (Image credit: amc press) Spoilers below for those aren’t yet caught up with ‘s most current episodes. The Walking Dead has gone to some strange places so far in Season 10 – with Negan and Alpha’s temporary kinship sitting front and center – and it looks like the creative team kept that streak going for as Michonne.

1. AMC debuted the opening minutes of the upcoming episode, titled “What We Became,” which features the archival return of a character we haven’t seen, Laurie Holden’s Andrea.
2. Rather than getting actress Laurie Holden back for the Season 10 episode – she was about the way her character was killed off – showrunner Angela Kang reincorporated footage of Andrea from the Season 2 finale into a twisted flashback of sorts for Michonne.

Check it out below, and read on to see why this might not bode well for Michonne. Wild, right? For those who didn’t watch, or weren’t able to, this opening sequence features a hooded Danai Gurira in flashback mode, once again with her two chained-up walker “pets.” As she walked through the woods, she heard a gunshot and then witnessed Andrea running in the distance.

Here’s where the scene started to take a sharper turn away from how the situation played out in Season 2’s “Beside the Dying Fire.” In the first place, the brightness was ramped up so that it was no longer a nighttime scene. Second, Michonne made a starkly different choice after she witnessed Andrea’s struggles against encroaching walkers.

Rather than stepping in and taking those walkers out, Michonne instead chose to walk away, and Andrea’s screams made it clear she was getting chomped by the zombies. As interesting as anything else is the look on Michonne’s face throughout the opening sequence.

1. She at times seemed slightly confused about why she’s reliving moments from her past.
2. But then when she left the struggling Andrea behind, the disgust on her face implied that she was indeed punishing Andrea for having defected to side with The Governor and the Woodbury folks.
3. So what does this all mean for the big picture? It’s obviously not totally clear yet, but it’s probably safe to assume that this is some kind of dream sequence in which Michonne is possibly rectifying some of the decisions she made in the past.

One of the newest images from the upcoming episode appears to show Michonne being kept captive in a room, so it’s likely that things get dangerous once she and Virgil make it back to the Naval base where his family is supposedly hiding out. While it’s not overtly troubling to know that Michonne is going back over what may be her biggest regrets in her post-apocalyptic life, that moment in particular brings up some concerns. Had Michonne not saved Andrea at that very moment, she might never have met up with Rick and the rest of the survivors, and thus might not have found love or had children again.

• Considering Rick has been missing for ages, perhaps her pain has compiled in such a way that she wishes none of it would have happened.
• Probably not, but maybe.
• I really hope this isn’t one of those situations, and Rick’s near-death experience, where former characters return and then something awful happens.

We want to see Michonne learning that Rick is still alive, and then making the trek to find him. Does this mean we might also during Michonne’s final episode, or any other long-gone characters from yesteryear? It’s definitely going to be an emotional episode, however it goes.

How did Andrea get sick in season 3?

Plot – Eight months after Rick kills Shane, and the onslaught at the Greene Family Farm, the world continues to grow increasingly more dangerous while Lori ‘s pregnancy advances. Rick, who has now assumed a dictatorial-like leadership over his group of survivors, and company are now in search of a safe haven, as Lori is due to give birth any day.

While hunting for food, Rick and Daryl happen upon a prison complex—West Georgia Correctional Facility—full of walkers. After Rick tells the group about the prison and how it could be a new home for them, the group clears out the outer prison courtyard of walkers and secure their position within the fences.

As many of the dispatched walkers wear prison or guard uniforms, Rick believes the prison may have fallen early during the epidemic and could hold a large supply cache. Lori later tries to talk to Rick about the child, but, as their relationship deteriorates, he dismisses her so that he can focus on planning their approach for the next day.

1. Elsewhere, Andrea has fallen severely ill with influenza since being separated from the group and taken in by Michonne, the hooded figure with the sword that rescued her from walkers attacking her in the woods.
2. The two aren’t faring well and have taken refuge in a deer cooler.
3. Michonne scours for aspirin or other medication from a store to reduce Andrea’s fever.

She returns to Andrea, who also feels like a burden to Michonne and tells her to abandon her, but Michonne refuses. They conclude they must move on as a group of walkers are advancing, so they head off out toward the woods. The next day, the group methodically clear out the inner prison yard of walkers before moving into the prison to clear out a cell block.

Daryl notes one wore civilian clothes, suspecting there may have been a breach. Rick and the others start clearing away the walker bodies, giving Lori the chance to confide to Hershel that she fears her child may be stillborn and reanimate as a walker, but Hershel calms her down and affirms her that the child is in fine health.

Later, Rick, Daryl, Hershel, Glenn, Maggie and T-Dog go on a scouting mission to other parts of the prison and move deeper into the interior, many in total darkness. All seems quiet at first, but suddenly they run into several groups of walkers. In the darkness and confusion, Glenn and Maggie get separated from the group.

1. When it’s finally safe to venture back out, Hershel tries to find the two but is bitten on his calf by a walker that only appeared to be dead.
2. The group then reunites and assists Hershel in getting out of the corridor.
3. They take refuge and barricade themselves in the cafeteria, where Rick, in an attempt to save Hershel, amputates his leg with a hatchet to prevent the infection from spreading.

However, this causes Hershel to go into shock and pass out from the ensuing blood loss. Then, five shadow figures appear in the adjacent room watching the group. Daryl prepares to fire, but realizes they are not walkers but are actually surviving prisoners,

Is Andrea the most hated character in TWD?

Sadly, no one is safe in an undead apocalypse, and many of those favorites died along the way. With the good always comes the bad, and below, we highlight 10 of the most hated featured during The Walking Dead’s 11 seasons. Bravo to the actors who star in these roles, as it shows their true talents to play such hated characters.

These characters are listed in no particular order; this is just a list of characters who have been some of the most hated in TWDU. Nicholas – Michael Treynor Nicholas was a coward, although cunning, and an overall horrible human being. His actions got people killed, and his lack of skills made him feel threatened by those with the survival skills to make it in this world.

He stood by many times while others died horrific deaths. In the end, he tried to make amends, but the trauma from his wrongdoings got the better of him. Sam – Major Dodson Sam was a whiney kid who, because his parents kept him hidden behind the walls of Alexandria, had no clue what things were like on the outside.

His father was abusive, which made him ask Carol for a gun, something no child should have to deal with. Carol also scared the stuffing out of him by threatening to tie him to a tree and allowing walkers to eat him. So it wasn’t entirely his fault he was the way he was.

Sadly, when he was confronted with a horde of walkers, he didn’t know what to do, and this would lead to his death as well as his mother’s. Andrea – Laurie Holden The worst part about TV Andrea is that her comic counterpart was so badass she wasn’t given a chance. Andrea, on the series was one of the most annoying characters who always had to be in the middle of things, even if she didn’t know what was happening.

She shot Daryl; she was mean to Dale, she meddled with Rick and the Governor’s meeting, and so much more. Her death was sad, or at least watching Michonne’s reaction was. Jessie Anderson – Alexandria Breckinridge Jessie was a resident of Alexandria, and many of the people living there didn’t understand how it was outside the walls.

She was married to a jerk of a man, who was also abusive, but Jessie couldn’t make tough decisions when she needed to. She put Rick in the middle of her marriage troubles, almost getting him kicked out of the community. She also endangered Rick, Carl, and Michonne’s lives when she wouldn’t let Sam go with Father Gabriel.

This led to her and her son’s deaths. Jared – Josh Mikel They don’t call him “Shitty Jared” for nothing. Jared was the worst, which says great things about the talent of Josh Mikel because he is one of the nicest people around. Jared was horrible. You know he was like this before the outbreak, and in the Savior’s environment, he could truly become the bully he always wanted to be.

Why did Andrea shoot Daryl?

Season 2, Episode 05: “Well, I’ll tell you what – I’m as real as your chupacabra,” Written by David Leslie Johnson Directed by Guy Ferland “I’m gonna borrow a horse, head up to this ridge right here, take a bird’s-eye view of the whole grid. If she’s up there, I’ll spot her.” — Daryl Dixon The episode opens with a Flash Back to a crowded highway after the initial outbreak.

Shane, Lori and Carl are sitting in their car listening for updates on the radio, and the latter two strike up a conversation with a family sitting in a nearby car – Carol, Ed and Sophia. As the two sets of occupants talk, Carol offers Carl some food from Ed’s “survival stash”, but the latter shuts her down.

The adults exit their vehicles and mention that the emergency broadcasts have gone oddly silent, but are soon surprised when they see military gunships fly overhead, which proceed to carpet-bomb the downtown Atlanta area with napalm. Lori and Shane hold on to each other in fear.

In the present, Lori wakes up in her tent at the farm, clearly restless and bothered with the result from the pregnancy test, Carol comes by and asks if anything is wrong, but Lori shrugs it off, and they elect to prepare dinner for the Greene family in exchange for their hospitality. Elsewhere, Rick is mapping out a search grid for the group to look for Sophia.

Beth’s boyfriend, Jimmy, offers to help them search, but Shane nixes the idea, stating that Jimmy doesn’t have the proper gun training. Andrea offers to take him with herself and T-Dog, while Daryl elects to search on his own. Afterwards, the group ribs on Daryl about how he might find a “chupacabra”, a demonic dog, that he claims he saw a long time ago.

Daryl admits that it’s not as impossible as the dead rising and walking around. The various groups set off on their search. In the forest, Glenn and Maggie discuss their encounter in the pharmacy, and she sheepishly admits that she might like him before laughing nervously. Elsewhere, Rick and Shane walk through the forest and talk about the latter’s sexual conquests when he was a teenager.

The discussion soon turns to their search, and Shane indicates in no uncertain terms that their police training has shown them that after a person has been missing for 72 hours, they should be looking for a corpse instead. Daryl is out riding a horse when he spots an object in the nearby river and goes to investigate.

He discovers Sophia’s doll floating against a log in the river, and calls out her name, but to no avail. He remounts his horse and continues searching, but is soon thrown off the horse after it’s spooked by a snake, and goes tumbling down a steep hill. Daryl lands at the bottom, but not before one of his arrows pierces his side.

He applies field dressing to the wound and tries climbing up the hill, but falls back down and loses consciousness. Back at the camp, Glenn confronts Lori about the pregnancy test he brought for her, and asks what the result is. She admits that she’s pregnant, but begs him not to tell anyone.

• Soon after, Rick, Shane, Andrea and T-Dog return from their search, and the former tells Lori that Shane wants to abandon the search.
• Their conversation is interrupted by Beth, who requests Rick to follow her.
• Beth brings Rick to Hershel, who asks why Daryl took one of his horses.
• Rick says that he took Jimmy at his word that Hershel was fine with them going out into the woods, and admits that the groups need to work on their communication.

Daryl wakes up again, but is actually hallucinating his brother, Merle, who asks him why he’s wasting his time looking for a little girl and not him. Merle yells at him to get back up while threatening to beat him up. As Daryl wakes for real, he sees a walker trying to chew on his feet, and another coming towards him.

Daryl bashes the walker trying to gnaw on him with a giant log, then pulls the arrow out of his torso, loads his crossbow with it and dispatches the second. He begins to climb the ridge again, though not before cutting off the ears of the dead walkers and fashioning them into a necklace. With the scorching words of his brother ringing in his ears, Daryl makes it to the top.

Later that day, the women are making dinner in the kitchen, but their presence bothers Hershel, who tells Maggie that they need to set boundaries with Rick’s group. Maggie subtly lets on that she’s interested in Glenn, but Hershel chides her that the group won’t be around forever.

1. Outside, Andrea is practicing her sniper spotting skills on top of the RV, while Dale has an awkward conversation with Glenn about the latter sleeping with Maggie (and his views on women) inside it.
2. Suddenly, Andrea announces that she sees a lone walker coming towards them through the field, and moves to shoot it.

Rick and the group gather outside, and he tells her to wait while he deals with it. Together with Shane, Glenn and T-Dog, they move into the field, only to discover that the “walker” is in fact a dishelved and bloodied Daryl, who is incensed by Rick pointing a gun at him again.

Meanwhile, Andrea decides to try to shoot the “walker” over Dale’s calls to put the weapon down, and almost ends up killing Daryl, with the bullet grazing the side of his head. Rick yells at Andrea for being reckless, and they carry Daryl in, but not before noticing the necklace he made. Rick hastily shoves it into his pocket.

Later that night, the group sees Sophia’s doll in Daryl’s pack and once again debate whether to continue the search, with Shane admitting that he’s being realistic about their slim chances of finding her alive. Afterwards, the group eats dinner in near-silence, with everyone dealing with their own guilt over various events.

1. Glenn is sitting with Beth, Jimmy and Maggie when the latter passes him a note asking where he wants to have sex that night.
2. He scribbles a note and passes it back to her, although Rick and Hershel eye them warily.
3. Soon after, Carol brings the recovering Daryl some food and thanks him for looking for her daughter, and even though he tries to rebuff her, she admits that he’s just as important as Rick or Shane for what he did.

After dinner, Glenn goes to meet Maggie for a planned tryst in the barn’s hayloft, but Maggie realizes something is wrong when she reads the note. As Glenn sets up a sleeping bag, he notices a strange sound and peers down into the ground floor of the barn.

A Day in the Limelight : For Daryl. After Action Patch Up : Hershel is seen treating Daryl’s injuries when he returns to the farm. Annoying Arrows : Averted; Daryl is seriously impaired when he accidentally impales himself with one of his arrows, and the injury is shown to affect him for several subsequent episodes. Anywhere but Their Lips : Carol kisses Daryl on the forehead to thank him for all that he’s done in searching for Sophia. Arbitrary Skepticism : When the others mock Daryl for his belief in the chupacabra, he points out that not so long ago the idea of the dead rising to feed on the living would have seemed a little ridiculous too. Rick: You believe in a bloodsucking dog? Daryl: You believe in dead people walking around? Automaton Horses : Averted. Daryl finds out the hard way that horses are easily spooked and capable of throwing their riders. Big Brother Bully : Daryl’s hallucination of Merle implies that the two didn’t have the healthiest of relationships. Big “NO!” : Rick gets one when Andrea shoots Daryl. Blatant Lies : Jimmy telling Rick that Hershel is okay with him going out with the others. Butt-Monkey : This is perhaps Daryl’s unluckiest episode to date. Call-Back : When the others go out to confront Daryl, believing him to be a walker, Daryl comments that this is the third time Rick has pointed a gun at his head. The previous two times were in “Vatos”, when Daryl threatened T-Dog with his crossbow, and in “Wildfire” when he attempted to kill Zombie Infectee Jim. The Cameo : Merle Dixon appears as Daryl’s hallucination. Ed and Sophia Peletier are also seen in the opening flashback. Close-Call Haircut : A bullet grazes Daryl’s temple when Andrea accidentally shoots him, resulting in this. Continuity Nod : Glenn is seen with the guitar that was salvaged from the highway in the season premier. He later asks if anyone knows how to to play it. Covered in Scars : Daryl is, and tries to cover them up when Carol comes into the room. Creepy Souvenir : Daryl cuts the ears off the walkers he kills and makes them into a necklace. Deadpan Snarker : Daryl, even more so than usual given his bigger role in this episode. Rick: So you believe in a bloodsucking dog? Daryl: You believe in dead people walking around? The Determinator : Daryl takes this up to eleven: he gets thrown from his horse and falls down a cliff, gets impaled on one of his own arrows, falls down the same cliff a second time, is attacked by walkers and still manages to make it back to the farm through sheer force of will. Even Andrea shoots him in the head, he stays conscious long enough to deliver a snarky one-liner before passing out. Dogged Nice Guy : Glenn towards Maggie when she is reluctant to continue their relationship. Embarrassing Nickname : Daryl’s hallucination of Merle addresses him as ‘Darylina’. Failed a Spot Check : Not only does Andrea fail to ascertain whether or not her target is actually a walker before taking the shot, she also doesn’t seem to consider the possibility that she could hit any of the people standing around him. The Friend Nobody Likes : Lampshaded by Dale in an attempt to assuage Andrea’s guilt over shooting Daryl. Dale: Don’t be too hard on yourself. We’ve all wanted to shoot Daryl at one time or another.

Enforced by Daryl’s projection of Merle, who proclaims that the others think of Daryl as nothing more than a “freak”. However, this is averted by the end. Carol kisses him on the cheek and notes that he did more for Sophia than Ed ever managed. Averted when Rick defends Daryl’s (albeit reckless) actions, as he provided a positive chance that they might find Sophia. Though it turns out to be a red herring, Rick’s speaking up for Daryl shows Hallucination Merle is wrong when he says that the rest of the group finds Daryl useless.

Flashback : The episode opens with a flashback that reveals how most of the original Atlanta camp met prior to Rick waking up from his coma. Hates Being Touched : Daryl flinches when Carol leans in to give him a kiss on the forehead. Headbutting Heroes : Rick with both Shane and Hershel.

Rick and Shane continue to clash over whether they should continue the search for Sophia, while tension betwen Rick and Hershel escalates over the survivors getting too comfortable on the latter’s property. Helpful Hallucination : For a definition of ‘helpful’. Merle doesn’t do much besides mock and humiliate Daryl, but the taunting is what seems to spur him on to survive.

Horseback Heroism : Daryl. Gallows Humor : This exchange: Daryl (to Rick): This is the third time you’ve pointed that thing at my head. You gonna pull the trigger or what? Andrea shoots him from a distance with a long-range rifle, grazing his temple and knocking him the ground.

Daryl: I was kidding, Guilt Complex : It’s implied that Daryl feels guilty for putting so much energy into the search for Sophia when he didn’t look harder for Merle and is still with the people partially responsible for his brother’s fate. I Just Want to Be Badass : Andrea. Iconic Item : Sophia’s doll, which Daryl finds and takes a sign that she must still be somewhere nearby.

Improbable Aiming Skills : Andrea is a damn good shot, considering her limited experience. Improbable Infant Survival : Discussed. Rick believes there is a chance Sophia may still be alive, but Shane points out that they know from their time on the force they’re more likely to find a body after 72 hours under normal circumstances and not even taking into account the likelihood of her running into a zombie.

• Loners Are Freaks : How Daryl thinks the rest of the group sees him.
• Merle: You’re nothing to them.
• Redneck trash.
• Making Love in All the Wrong Places : Glenn’s suggestion that he and Maggie have sex in the barn leads to him discovering that it’s full of walkers.
• Morality Pet : Lori and Carl for Shane.
• He flat-out admits that they’re the only people he cares about anymore and he doesn’t care who else dies so long as they’re safe.

Mythology Gag : Merle’s hallucination told Daryl to “take his (Daryl) friend Rick’s hand”, an obvious nod to Rick’s Handicapped Badass status in the comic. Near-Death Experience : Daryl, thrice, First when he fell from his horse and gets impaled by his arrow.

1. Second when he wakes up with a walker about to eat him.
2. And finally when Andrea mistook him as a walker and shot him.
3. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero : Andrea nearly killed Daryl in an effort to prove herself,
4. No Periods, Period : Averted; Glenn mentions that he heard about women’s periods sometimes syncing up and suggests that this may explain the recent behavior of the women.

Dale advises that he keep that theory to himself. Not a Zombie : An inversion occurs when Daryl limps back to the farm covered in blood and the rest of the group assumes he is a walker on seeing him from a distance. Oh, Crap! : Maggie on reading Glenn’s note and realizing that he’s gone to the barn, followed shortly by Glenn arriving at said barn and walking in on a dozen walkers.

Also Lori and Shane watching Atlanta get bombed by the military in the opening flashback. Finally, this is Andrea’s reaction when she sees that she shot Daryl, not a walker

One Arrow Left : Daryl uses his last arrow on one of the walkers that attacks him at the bottom of the ravine. Politically Incorrect Hero : Hershel refers to Glenn as “the Asian boy” and expresses disapproval over his relationship with Maggie. Really Gets Around : Rick and Shane have a converation regarding Shane’s many conquests while they were at high school. Room Full of Zombies : The Greene family barn. The Reveal : Glenn discovering that the Greenes are keeping a dozen live walkers in their barn. Secret-Keeper : Lori asks Glenn to keep her pregnancy to himself until she has decided what to do, as he is the only other person who knows about it Sliding Scale of Idealism vs. Cynicism : Rick and Daryl both believe that finding Sophia’s doll is a positive sign, but Shane is less convinced and interprets the sequence of events as Daryl almost getting killed to bring back a doll. Spotting the Thread : Daryl is able to realize that Merle is a hallucination because he still has both of his hands. Ungrateful Bastard : Lori and Carol cook dinner for the group to thank Hershel for his hospitality, but Hershel is less than impressed by the gesture as he feels that Rick’s survivor group is crossing boundaries. What the Hell, Hero? : Dale demands to know what Glenn was thinking in having sex with the daughter of their host. Glenn angrily retorts that he was thinking he might die tomorrow.

Why did everyone hate Andrea Walking Dead?

Andrea didn’t gain a ton of support from viewers during her short stint on The Walking Dead, and a lot of it had to do with the comic books. Andrea didn’t gain a ton of support from viewers during her three-season stint on The Walking Dead, The character, played by Laurie Holden, was based on a key figure featured in the Walking Dead comic book series created by Robert Kirkman. Rather than follow her comic book character’s arc and personality traits, the TV version of Andrea went in another direction.

In doing so, Andrea emerged as one of the most hated characters in the minds of a large segment of fans. Holden made her Walking Dead debut in the show’s second episode, “Guts.” Andrea was one of the members of the small group of survivors that took in Lori and Carl Grimes before they reunited with Rick.

The former civil rights lawyer and her younger sister were saved by a fellow survivor, Dale Horvath, Andrea served as a viable contributor when it came to protecting the group, especially when the camp relocated to the Greene family farm. She eventually became separated from the rest of the group and wound up in Woodbury where she became romantically involved with the community’s sadistic leader, The Governor,

By The Walking Dead season 3, it was made clear that the TV series was deviating from Andrea’s comic book arc, Not only did the character make a bad first impression, but she constantly chastised those who put their lives on the line for her safety. Rather than make her a strong female force, many felt the show transformed her into a pushy and unappreciative figure.

The series could have followed the comic counterpart by making Andrea a level-headed loyal member of the group, but instead, her strange infatuation with The Governor muddled her senses. In the end, it was too late by the time she listened to her original group, and her connection to The Governor led to Andrea’s untimely death,

Personality – Dale was remembered as a kind man and a loving father. He admired the Seven Deadly Sins and wished to become like them so his daughter would be proud of him. Though classed as a traitor after his disappearance, the incident is shrouded in mystery. After being mutated into a hybrid Demon, Dale lost his sense of humanity, still his remnants of them remain before losing them completely.

She’s a sweetheart who calls people “sug,” but she was implied to be a bit of a mean girl growing up who still has a dark side. And she might be a pretty face, but she’s also a career woman with multiple jobs in the media. Naturally, when it comes to her family, there are plenty of times Nancy has been shown to be a wonderful parent.

Other times, not so much.

Joseph overall seems to have a good, healthy relationship with his dad although he at times shows typical teenage rebellion toward Dale. The characters’ stories differed from the comics, and in the series, the characters fell in love but were parted by what Michonne thought was the death of Rick.

When she learned of his survival, nothing would stop her from finding him again. Their story will continue in a spinoff, Summit (working title), that recently wrapped filming and will premiere in 2024. Andrew Lincoln has portrayed Rick since the pilot episode of The Walking Dead, which premiered in 2010.

Danai Gurira would play Michonne beginning in season 3. Looking back at earlier seasons, it is easy to see how their relationship grew into what is described as an epic love story. Viewers were privy to the fact that he was blown clear, but Michonne and the others thought he was dead.

Is Michonne pregnant with Rick?

Season 9 – The ninth season of the series finds Rick’s group attempting to build new lives following an end to the conflict against the Saviors, with Negan being kept in the jail inside Alexandria. Despite the loss of Carl, Rick and Michonne have moved forward and have concentrated on building a future for the growing Judith.

The couple also decides to start trying to conceive a baby together. The group has started construction on a bridge that will serve to connect Alexandria, the Kingdom, and Hilltop with the Sanctuary, ensuring that all communities are able to stay in contact ( “The Bridge” ). Rick and the others have learned that the remaining Saviors who still dwell at the Sanctuary are now starving without Negan to lead them.

Maggie initially refuses to help them, but ultimately changes her mind. Michonne even suggests that the communities have common laws that everyone follows, and after getting Maggie’s input, she begins drafting a charter. However, at the Hilltop, their leader Gregory ( Xander Berkely ) makes two unsuccessful attempts on Maggie’s life.

1. Taking justice into her own hands, Maggie has Daryl hang Gregory for his betrayal, which shocks Michonne and Rick (” A New Beginning “).
2. Despite staying busy throughout the day by overseeing construction in Alexandria and tending to the overall community, Michonne still feels unfulfilled.
3. She then realizes it is because she has not faced any real excitement because she has not dispatched any walkers in a while.

Deciding not to tell Rick, she ventures out late every night to fight any walkers that are roaming outside Alexandria’s walls. On one such night, she comes across a walker strung up in a tree with his hands tied, which angers her because it reminds her of Gregory’s death at the hands of Maggie.

Distracted, she is attacked from behind by another walker and is nearly bitten. She grabs a baseball bat nearby and kills the walker, realizing with horror that the bat reminds her of Glenn and Abraham’s deaths. After this encounter, she decides to stop sneaking out at night. Back in Alexandria, Michonne stops Maggie from going into Negan’s cell and killing him.

Although Maggie wants revenge for him killing her husband Glenn, Michonne tells her that it will only start something else. However, Maggie is insistent, and Michonne steps aside for her to go in. Despite her chance, Maggie realizes Negan is a shadow of his former self, and decides that leaving him to suffer in the cell is better.

• In the episode ” What Comes After “, Rick seemingly sacrifices himself by blowing up the bridge to stop an oncoming herd of walkers, leaving Michonne devastated.
• Unknown to Michonne and everyone else, Rick actually survives the explosion and is taken away in a helicopter, accompanied by Anne.
• In the six years following his disappearance, it is revealed that Michonne has assumed leadership over the Alexandria community and was pregnant at the time of Rick’s supposed demise; she is now a parent to Rick’s daughter Judith ( Cailey Fleming ), as well as their own child together, Rick Jr.

(RJ) Grimes. It becomes apparent that over the course of those six years, a major rift has formed between Michonne and the other communities. She is hesitant to travel to the Hilltop, expressing concern that Maggie might kill her if she sees her. Also, Tara seems cold toward Michonne when she arrives there.

However, it is revealed that Maggie is no longer at Hilltop and has left to go with another group, which Michonne didn’t know about. Carol, now in a relationship with Ezikiel and helping him lead the Kingdom, tries to convince Michonne to allow Alexandria to come back into the fold, but she declines.

At some point, Michonne learns that Negan has escaped from his cell, only to return to it a short time later, by his own free will. Confronting him in the jail, she believes he only returned because he couldn’t make it in the new world by himself. Negan counters that he has changed over the years and wants to help Michonne lead Alexandria, an idea she rejects.

1. She also learns that Judith has been talking to Negan in secret.
2. Judith believes that Negan is not a bad person, putting her at odds with Michonne.
3. Simultaneously, Michonne and the others must deal with a new threat – the Whisperers, a group of people who survive among the walkers by wearing their skin on their faces and imitating the walkers (” Evolution “).

Longtime ally Jesus ( Tom Payne ) is killed when he is caught off-guard and stabbed by a male Whisperer in a cemetery. Daryl kills the man and discovers they all wear walker skin over their faces. In the episode ” Scars “, some of the six-year time lapse is explored in a series of flashbacks.

Michonne is shown visibly pregnant, having spent the last few months helping Daryl look for Rick’s body after the explosion, finding no trace of him except for his pistol. New survivors turn up at Alexandria’s gates, among them Jocelyn ( Rutina Wesley ), Michonne’s friend from her college days. Jocelyn reveals that she has been taking care of a group of children, and encourages Michonne to leave Alexandria.

While Michonne is gone, Jocelyn and her group steal supplies and other children from Alexandria, including Judith. Michonne and Daryl eventually track down Jocelyn, who has them captured, tortured and branded. However, they escape, with Michonne confronting Jocelyn and the children.

In the ensuing struggle, Jocelyn beats Michonne with a wooden plank, and one of the children slashes her pregnant belly. Michonne ultimately kills Jocelyn by stabbing her with her sword. When the children attack, she is forced to kill them. However, she is successful in rescuing Judith and they return to Alexandria with Daryl.

The violent incident is shown to have ramifications years later; when Daryl shows up at Alexandria’s gates with a wounded Henry and Lydia ( Cassady McClincy ), daughter of the Whisperers’ leader Alpha ( Samantha Morton ), Michonne and Aaron are initially hesitant to allow Lydia in.

However, Michonne decides that she trusts Daryl and allows them in, but only long enough for Henry to get medical attention. She refuses to provide an escort for them as they plan to travel to the Kingdom. Judith decides to sneak away on her own to protect them, taking Rick’s pistol with her. Michonne sets out to track down Judith, arriving in time to save her from a group of walkers.

They discuss what happened years before with Jocelyn, as Michonne was unaware Judith had seen her slaughter the children and remembered the incident. Judith believes Michonne did the right thing at that time, but that Daryl and the others are still their allies and they should now help them.

1. Michonne decides that Judith is right and they leave together to catch up with Daryl and the others, unaware that they are being watched by two Whisperers.
2. In ” The Calm Before “, Michonne brings all the leaders from the communities to meet with Alpha.
3. She apologizes for Alexandria forgoing its relationships, that Alexandria will give asylum to Alpha’s daughter, Lydia, and to establish a mutual protection pact knowing that Alpha will likely retaliate.

Sure enough, Alpha takes her revenge by killing Henry, Enid, Tara, Ozzy ( Angus Sampson ), Alek (Jason Kirkpatrick), D.J. (Matt Mangum), Frankie (Elyse Nicole DuFour), Tammy Rose ( Brett Butler ), and Rodney (Joe Ando Hirsh). Michonne blames herself for their deaths.

In the season finale episode ” The Storm “, the group must battle their way through freezing temperatures and walkers, crossing through the Whisperers’ territory in order to make it back to their own communities. The finale takes place a few months after the events of the previous episode, “The Calm Before”, which ended in the deaths of several allies.

Michonne and the others eventually make it back to Alexandria, where she is relieved to be reunited with Judith and RJ. She later visits Negan, who is healing in the infirmary. He commends her for crossing through Alpha’s territory, despite the danger.

Did Rick fall in love with Michonne?

Canon – Rick is initially strongly suspicious of Michonne, but after she helps him getting into Woodbury, and after she saves Hershel’s life in the Prison attack, he starts to slowly trust her. In Clear she reveals that she’s aware of Rick’s situation; seeing Lori, and reveals she used to talk to her dead boyfriend, presumably boosting their relationship and level of understanding for one another.

1. In Welcome to the Tombs, Rick states that she is one of them, and is officially a member of the group.
2. Rick and Michonne become closer during the months where the prison runs smoothly, as during 30 Days Without an Accident she returns from hunting The Governor with gifts for him and for Carl.
3. During the brutal attack by the Governor in Too Far Gone, Michonne saves Rick’s life, stabbing The Governor through the chest while he’s throttling Rick.

She helps him get to safety. Rick is thrilled to see her when she finds him and Carl at the end of After, He tells her in Claimed that he knows how important she is to Carl, and he clearly trusts her with Carl. Michonne tries to get him to rest from his injuries.

While Michonne and Carl go on a run, Rick escapes from a group of men who plan to rape and kill her, alerting Michonne and Carl to their presence as he flees the house. While on the road to Terminus, Rick again saves Michonne (and Carl and Daryl) from these men in A in a feral attack. The next day, Michonne asks how he’s doing.

When he says he’s okay, she says she knows, because she’s okay too, perhaps implying that she sees their moods as being intertwined. Later that day, when Carl is reluctant to spend time with Rick, Michonne encourages him to be closer to his father. She tells Carl that he, Rick, and Andrea helped bring back her emotions and her feelings.

When walkers invade Alexandria, Michonne helps Rick and Carl. She kills Ron to save Rick’s life. When Carl is accidentally shot, she helps Rick to get him to the infirmary, risking her life in the process. Once there, Rick exits to defend the walkers attracted by the light of the infirmary. Michonne tells Denise that she must help Rick.

The two became rather close and have generally showed a great deal of care for each other. In The Next World they kiss, and are later seen naked in bed together, signifying they made love. The next morning, in Knots Untie, Rick tells Carl “This is different” in regards to his love for Michonne.

2. Later in the episode, Rick and Michonne briefly hug after discussing their impending fight with Negan.
3. In East, Michonne and Rick are in bed together, sleeping.
4. They wake up and share an apple, given to them by the Hilltop residents.
5. They discuss how effective the Hilltop trade has been and how they are both prepared to fight to keep what they’ve built.

Rick tries to get Michonne to stay in bed but she insists on helping Maggie fortify Alexandria. In Say Yes Michonne jokes around and flirts with Rick a lot. When he is seemingly eaten by walkers, she drops her sword and is too distraught to protect herself.

• Seemingly having given up, Michonne demonstrates her unwillingness to live without Rick here and his survival snaps her out of it.
• Michonne is taken hostage by Negan’s Saviors not long after, and Rick is made aware in the following episode, Last Day On Earth, when the group comes across a line of walkers, one with two of Michonne’s dreads attached.

Rick is visibly shaken and keeps the dreads. Rick and Michonne do not see each other again until a kidnapped Michonne is removed from the Saviors vehicle while Rick is kneeling in the kidnapped group’s lineup. When Negan had killed Abraham and Glenn and mentally broke Rick, Michonne wanted absolute revenge.

Does Andrea die in season 2 episode 13?

Synopsis – A herd of walkers roams out of Atlanta, attracted by a passing helicopter, which resembles the helicopter Rick saw in the series premiere flying past the same building. The walkers continue down a country road, attracting more walkers along the way.

In a field, two herds merge and we watch as time passes and the herd grows, gathering more walkers; eventually, a herd of thousands of walkers forms. The herd passes through a forest at night when a gunshot rings out. They change their course and follow the sound to a clearing, where in the distance two figures — Rick and Carl — march toward the farmhouse,

Daryl and Glenn return to the house and report that Randall is a walker. Hershel asks if they had found the walker that killed him and Daryl points out that Randall was never bitten or scratched, and that he had his neck broken instead. As Rick and Carl cross a field, Carl asks what happened to Shane,

• Before Rick can respond, he notices the walkers approaching and, with Carl following, begins to run toward the farmhouse, but the path up to the house becomes blocked by the herd.
• Rick decides to run toward the empty barn and locks himself and Carl within.
• As the dead slam against the doors, Rick douses the ground with gasoline and instructs Carl on what to do next.

Meanwhile, the others spot the herd approaching. Lori notices that Carl is missing, and begins to panic. Daryl knows that they can’t simply hide in the basement, as a herd of that size could tear the house down trying to reach them. The rest of the group formulate a plan to use their guns to kill as many as they can, and use their cars to lead the rest of them away.

• Daryl doubts they’ll be able to fend off a herd of that size, but Hershel stands firm.
• This is my farm.”, he retorts.
• I’ll die here.” Back in the barn, Rick hands Carl a lighter and sends him up to the hayloft before opening the doors.
• As walkers pour in, Rick hurries up the ladder and Carl drops the lighter.

The barn bursts into flames. Led by Daryl’s motorcycle, the caravan makes its way to the barn, shooting walkers as they go. A battle between the survivors and the undead breaks out. Glenn fends off many walkers using Shane’s Mossberg shotgun and his car for travel, with Maggie in the driver’s seat.

Andrea also contributes, with T-Dog driving both in Otis ‘ truck. Daryl, noticing the barn fire, assumes that either Rick or Shane is responsible. He sends Jimmy to rescue Rick in Dale ‘s RV, Rick and Carl jump on the RV’s rooftop as walkers surround the vehicle. In an attempt to escape the trapped vehicle, Jimmy is swarmed when walkers break inside and devour him.

Rick and Carl quickly run into the woods, with walkers on their tail. Andrea and T-Dog realize the walkers cannot be corralled and they don’t have nearly enough ammo to finish them off. “We need a new game plan.”, T-Dog mutters. Meanwhile, Hershel stands in front of the farmhouse shooting walkers one by one as Lori continues to worry about Carl.

1. Carol convinces Lori they have to leave.
2. Lori calls after Hershel, but he ignores her and keeps firing valiantly.
3. As the women flee, walkers grab Patricia and she is bitten while she holds on to a panicked Beth,
4. Beth finally lets go of her hand and escapes with Lori as Patricia gets devoured by the walkers.

Carol gets separated from the other two and is cornered. T-Dog pulls up and Lori and Beth get in whilst Andrea gets out to help Carol, shooting two walkers before a third attacks her from behind. She spins around and fires. From the truck, Lori, Beth and T-Dog see the walker fall on Andrea and assume her dead.

Walkers swarm the truck and T-Dog drives away. Soon after, Andrea crawls out from under the dead walker, alive and uninjured. In Shane’s SUV, Maggie and Glenn attempt to follow the truck but are cut off by walkers. Glenn instructs Maggie to retreat, but she’s worried about the others. “It’s lost.”, Glenn yells.

“Get off the farm now!” Maggie keeps protesting, but after a walker lands on their windshield, she panics and causes the car to lurch backwards, before driving out of the farm. Back at the house, Hershel continues to fend off walkers. Running out of ammo, Hershel steps back to reload as a stray walker creeps up on him.

• Just before he is bitten by the walker, Rick arrives and kills it, imploring to Hershel that they have to go.
• Along with Carl, they drive off from a group of walkers swarming up on them.
• Andrea tries to call out for Rick, but the snarls of the walkers dwarf her cry for help as they begin to swarm her.

She flees on foot with the bag of guns. The last to be on the farm is Daryl, who watches the barn conflagration from afar, until he hears Carol’s desperate screams. He drives to her aid, rescues Carol on his motorcycle, and they ride away. The barn continues to burn and eventually collapses; the RV is burned in the process.

Hershel sadly takes one more look at his farm, now completely overrun, as they leave the property. At dawn, Glenn and Maggie are driving down a dirt road. Glenn instructs her to circle back to the highway, but Maggie is too paralyzed with fear. Glenn assures Maggie that her family will be fine. “I love you.”, he admits.

“I should have said it a long time ago.” Rick, Hershel and Carl return to the highway next to the car where they left supplies for Sophia, Carl wants to go back for Lori, but Rick is hesitant. “Why are we running?!”, Carl screams at his father. Hershel assures Rick he’s doing the right thing: “You’ve got to get your boy to safety.”, he says, offering to stay behind to wait for the others.

Rick insists they remain together. Elsewhere, Lori insists that they head back to the highway but T-Dog states that they should head east towards the coast. Lori threatens to leave the truck unless he turns around and when she is close to actually doing so, he complies reluctantly. Rick is about to abandon the highway when he hears engines rumble in the distance: the other survivors’ vehicles.

After reuniting, Rick reports that Shane and Jimmy didn’t make it; Lori is horrified by the news of Shane’s death, but is glad that Carl is okay. Beth then reports Patricia’s fate before Carol points out that Andrea might still be alive. Daryl prepares to find her when Rick stops him from leaving, saying “There’s no way to find her.” Later, the other survivors caravan down a country road.

• Hershel’s SUV runs out of gas and Rick declares they’ll camp by the road and scavenge in the morning, but the others doubt him.
• We found each other”, against all odds, he insists.
• Rick does not allow anyone to leave and risk getting stranded without a car.
• Glenn counters that they’re already stranded and even worse, walkers are everywhere.

Rick believes there’s a place where they can build a new life. “We just have to find it,” he maintains. Daryl brings up Randall, explaining that he turned without being bitten. “We’re all infected,” Rick murmurs loudly and solemnly. “At the CDC, Jenner told me.

Whatever it is, we all carry it.” The others become furious at Rick for keeping Jenner’s secret, but Rick insists he had no way of knowing if it was true. Rick walks away from the group and Lori follows. “I killed him.”, Rick admits to Lori about Shane. “He gave me no choice.” he says “I wanted him dead,” Rick says.

“He turned. That’s how I knew Jenner was right,” Rick continues. “Carl put him down.” Horrified, Lori backs away from Rick. He tries to touch her but she backs away, looking at him with anger for allowing Carl to kill Shane. Andrea, meanwhile, sprints through the woods, picking off walkers but eventually running out of ammunition.

• A walker topples her, but before it can bite her its head is sliced off.
• As the walker’s body slumps over, Andrea sees standing before her, a hooded figure holding a katana and leading two jaw-less and armless walkers chained at the neck with shackles.
• Huddled around a campfire, the others continue to question Rick’s leadership.

Carol tells Daryl he should lead the group as a man of honor. “Rick has honor.”, Daryl insists. Maggie, too, tries to convince Glenn to abandon the others, but Hershel shuts her down. A noise echoes in the distance. Still, Rick refuses to let anyone investigate.

• Carol urges Rick to take action and he snaps, saying he never asked to be put in charge.
• I killed my best friend for you people, for Christ’s sake!” he snaps at the group.
• Carl buries his head in Lori’s shoulder, crying.
• Rick explains that Shane staged the incident with Randall so he could kill him.
• Shane gave him no choice.

“Maybe you people are better off without me.”, Rick continues, encouraging them to leave him. “I say there’s a place for us, but maybe it’s another pipe dream.” He dares them to leave, but none of them move, though they are all looking back at him in stunned silence.

Season 3 – It is revealed in this season that Andrea and Michonne (the hooded figure that saved Andrea’s life in the Season 2 finale) have taken refuge at a game cooler, where Andrea is sick from influenza. Michonne raids a local pharmacy, bringing Andrea aspirin.

Andrea unsuccessfully tries to convince Michonne to leave her, saying she can take care of herself. Andrea, however, is successful at convincing Michonne that they need to move out now instead of waiting a few days like Michonne had originally planned due to the walkers that surround their location. Andrea, Michonne, and her two pet Walkers flee out of a back entrance of the game building.

While traveling on the road, Andrea and Michonne see mysterious plumes of smoke rising in the distance. Going to investigate, they discover a crashed helicopter. Andrea stays hidden in the bushes while Michonne investigates, until the arrival of The Governor and his group.

Michonne kills her pet walkers, attempting to prevent the men from detecting their presence. However, an unidentified person sneaks up on them, and a man’s voice instructs them to lower their weapons and turn around. As Andrea and Michonne comply with the request, the man holding them at gunpoint is revealed to be Merle Dixon.

Surprised to see Merle, Andrea passes out. Andrea drifts in and out of consciousness while riding in a vehicle, but notices a dead corpse hanging from a tree and several abandoned vehicles before entering Woodbury. She is then taken care of by Dr. Stevens while Michonne watches.

1. Merle comes into the room and asks about Daryl.
2. Andrea tells him briefly what has transpired since she last saw him.
3. The Governor arrives, but refuses to allow them to leave after dark or return the women their weapons.
4. He also reveals that they are all infected, and that everyone will come back as walkers no matter how they die.

The Governor shows Andrea and Michonne outside and welcomes them to Woodbury, showing off his impressive fence they have built around the town, and how they protect it. The following day Andrea and Michonne learn more about Woodbury from Rowan. Andrea seems to be impressed by The Governor and his accomplishment of creating a safe town, though Michonne seems more hesitant to trust him.

Andrea grows tired of Michonne’s aloof nature, telling her that she knows little to nothing about her. Andrea is friendly with The Governor when he returns from his mission to find Lieutenant Welles’ comrades. Andrea is preparing to leave Woodbury with Michonne, who says they should head for the coast and perhaps find a boat.

Andrea is skeptical of this plan, but knows Michonne is suspicious of The Governor. Andrea gives a map to Merle, so that he can find Hershel’s farm and search for Daryl. She talks to The Governor one last time, and he tells her his name is Philip. She returns to Michonne, reluctant to leave, and convinces her to stay in Woodbury a little longer.

Woodbury is busy preparing for a day of celebrating as part of a party put on by Philip. Andrea enjoys the day’s festivities, including cold drinks and an inspiring toast by Philip. When she questions Milton Mamet about the big event for the night, he avoids telling her. She is told later by Merle that Philip wants to talk to her, and that it is urgent.

Philip informs her that Michonne has broken into a private area and slayed a group of captive Walkers, and that she threatened Philip with her sword. When Andrea asks why he was keeping Walkers captive, Philip does not give her the answer just yet. Going back to the room she shares with Michonne, Andrea asks an agitated Michonne why she did those things.

“You’re freaking me out,” Andrea says, watching her hurriedly pack their things. Michonne continues to go on about how suspicious Woodbury really is, and Andrea says, “You are not making any sense.” However, she decides to leave with her anyway. As the pair of them are walking towards the gate to leave, Merle spots them and prevents them from going.

He speaks briefly to a guard, and when Andrea tries to talk to him, he says, “I’m going to need you to back up.” Confused, she turns to Michonne and asks if they can stay a little while longer. Andrea says that Woodbury is the refuge they have been seeking for 8 months, and that they should stay.

Michonne gives her an ultimatum: either come with her, or stay in Woodbury without her. When Andrea hesitates, Michonne scoffs, “You just slowed me down anyway”, and leaves her. Later, while she is sitting at a bench and feeling hurt, Philip approaches Andrea. He comforts her, saying he has something in mind that will help blow off steam.

That night, Andrea and the rest of Woodbury look on as Merle and Martinez face off in an arena of Walkers. The two men kick and punch each other, surrounded by Walkers, while Philip and the rest of Woodbury cheer. Andrea becomes angry, accusing Philip of being “sick”.

1. Philip pulls her aside and says that they have pulled out the zombies’ teeth, so that the men cannot be harmed and that it is just for fun.
2. Philip says that he is teaching the people to be brave.
3. Andrea still appears upset by this, as Merle defeats his opponent.
4. Carl, still believing that Andrea is dead, mentions her when listing the names of deceased female members of the group as possible names for the newborn baby.

Andrea has been accepted as a member of Woodbury now, and wants to contribute in any way she can. She asks Philip if she can guard the wall, and he agrees. Andrea meets Haley while guarding the wall, who reveals that she had lost her father and brother.

When a walker approaches, she fails to kill it with her bow. Andrea jumps from the wall, knocking down the walker and stabbing it in the head. Later, she is scolded by Philip, who does not want anyone leaving the wall. Andrea admits that she actually liked the arena fighting, but it bothered her to like them.

Philip assures her nothing is wrong with liking a fight. Sparks fly between the two later, and she ends up kissing him. They get more passionate later on, and she ends up having sex with him. Andrea is invited by The Governor to witness Milton’s conduction of an experiment on the ailing Michael Coleman.

1. Andrea questions if Milton has ever seen reanimation, to which he denies and explains that he was an only child and his parents had passed away while he was young.
2. She later witnesses Michael reanimating and Milton repeats the experiment.
3. The walker grips onto the bed and Milton believes that it was a positive response.

Andrea believes it was just a random reanimation reaction. Milton unties Michael’s restraints and repeats the experiment once more. The reanimated Michael does not hesitate and pounces on him, but before he can bite him, Andrea stabs it in the head while Milton, shaken, states that he will study his work and walks off.

Andrea informs The Governor that she wants to assist Milton in cremating Mr. Coleman; he remarks that “Woodbury’s starting to grow on you.” She is later seen with The Governor as he assembles a group to kill Rick and the other intruders. She volunteers to help the others, but The Governor insists that she stay behind; she nonetheless takes a gun and helps the guards shoot at Rick and the others, though she can’t identify them due to the smoke.

She spots Oscar and fires at him, but misses her shots. Andrea later discovers The Governor, who had been mutilated by Michonne, and draws her gun at the latter, but doesn’t fire. After approaching The Governor to comfort him, Andrea notices the tanks containing the severed heads of walkers and the corpse of Penny.

• She demands to know why he had them there.
• The Governor gives her a vague answer about the heads before brushing her next question about Penny off.
• Andrea is later seen at the gathering of Woodbury citizens when The Governor denounces Merle a traitor and is shocked when he reveals their prisoner to be Daryl.

Andrea tries to talk Philip out of the deathmatch between Daryl and Merle, but to no avail. When the Woodbury survivors are distraught after the attack, Andrea manages to deliver a motivational speech, telling them that they have to persevere and assist in calming them down.

• Andrea also learns that her old group were the ones responsible for attacking Woodbury and causing the death of seven residents.
• The Governor visits Andrea, requesting her to take over leadership of Woodbury, insisting that he had “screwed up.” Andrea later goes searching for Martinez and The Governor, who both went missing.

Milton dodges her question, suggesting that The Governor may have went on a supply run. Andrea, however, doesn’t believe his claims and walks off. Andrea talks with The Governor, who tells her that the prison group attacked them first while he was simply attempting to negotiate.

• He tells her that they are “bloodthirsty.” He also tells her that if she goes to the prison, she is to stay there.
• Andrea talks with Milton, and wants him to cover for her as she sneaks out to go the prison to make peace between Woodbury and the prison group.
• Milton and Andrea capture a walker in the woods to use as a deterrent.

Andrea hacks both of the walker’s arms off and then uses a rock to curb-stomp the walker’s teeth out to prevent it from biting. Andrea and Milton are saved by Tyreese Williams’s group when another walker appears. Andrea arrives at the prison, learning of the fates of Shane, Lori, and T-Dog.

Andrea tries to make peace, but Rick and the others make it clear that they want to retaliate against Woodbury and The Governor. Andrea learns that The Governor lied about who shot first from Rick, and Andrea’s negotiation ends when Rick storms off after Andrea refuses to get them inside of Woodbury.

Andrea accuses Michonne of poisoning the group, but Michonne argues that she was telling them the truth. While talking with Carol, Carol tells her to sleep with The Governor and give him the best night of his life, and then to kill him while his guard is down.

• Before departing, the group gives her a car and Rick hands her a handgun and a knife.
• She arrives back to Woodbury and sleeps with The Governor.
• While he is asleep, she stands over his bedside with a knife, contemplating Carol’s plan.
• Andrea, however, puts the knife away and peers out of the window, unable to go through with the killing.

Andrea, along with Milton and Martinez arrive at an abandoned farm’s barn as set by her, in order to get Rick and Philip to talk about the situation between the two groups. Andrea then, noticing the meeting began without her, strides inside the barn and tries to mediate the situation but is told by Rick that he knows about the raids, the heads and about Maggie.

Later, she tells the both of them to calm down after Philip demands Rick’s surrender, and is then kicked out by The Governor. While waiting outside the barn, a small group of walkers approaches Andrea, Daryl, Hershel, Milton and Martinez, which causes Andrea, Daryl and Martinez to go kill them. Andrea asks Hershel what Philip did to Maggie, which he answers saying “He’s a sick man.” Andrea is in despair and says she can’t go back to Woodbury.

Hershel agrees that she belongs at the prison, but warns her that once she leaves, she can’t go back. When Rick and Philip are done talking, all of them enter in their cars, causing Andrea to join Woodbury again. When they get back to Woodbury, Philip thanks her for setting up the meeting, but doesn’t tell her about his plan of killing Michonne and the rest of the group.

• Andrea says she is glad she could help.
• Milton tells Andrea about how he saw the torture room that Philip made for Michonne.
• He takes her to see it, and they look at all the tools that Philip plans to use.
• Milton tells her to go to the prison and tell them that they have to leave.
• She instead says that she must kill Philip.

He walks in, and Andrea, in an overlooking room, points her gun through the shutters on the window. Milton forces her to put it down. Later, Martinez tells her to give him her gun, for “precautions”. Andrea is later seen climbing over a wall that Tyreese and Sasha are guarding.

• Tyreese tries to stop her, only to have Andrea pull a knife on him.
• After a little negotiation, they allow her to leave.
• She starts a steady run, knowing that Philip will soon find out.
• She is running down an unknown road when she hears a car.
• She runs into the near woods and hides behind a tree.
• She is grabbed from behind by a walker, and two more approach her.

She blocks them with her leg, and then kills them. She is next seen in an empty field when she hears the car again. She ducks down, but it’s too late. Philip starts following her as she runs away. She goes through some debris, and Philip has to go around.

She winds up at an abandoned warehouse. While inside, she accidentally tips over a bucket of tools, alerting Philip. She ends up finding a door. She opens it, finding many walkers on the stairwell inside. She closes the door, and turns around, seeing that she is cornered by Philip. She opens the door again and hides behind it, allowing the walkers to attack him.

She finds a way out and leaves. She later arrives at the prison, trying to signal Rick, who is on guard in a watchtower. She is then grabbed and pulled down by Philip. Rick sees this out of the corner of his eye, and aims his rifle down there, only to come up empty.

Philip somehow makes his way back. She is then seen, chained to a chair in the torture room. Andrea is seen still restrained to The Governor’s torture chair. After Milton is beaten by The Governor, he is ordered to kill Andrea. When he refuses and attempts to kill The Governor instead, he is stopped and stabbed by The Governor and left to die but not before Milton leaves some pliers behind the chair.

He tells Andrea about the pliers and orders her to stab him in the head once she frees herself. She tries to kick the pliers so she can grab them but she cannot in her boots. She takes off her boots to get the pliers more quickly as Milton slowly dies.

After some struggle, she gets them and begins to free herself. As she begins to cut through her restraints, Milton reanimates. She manages to get one arm free as the now undead Milton stands up, ready to attack. She tries desperately to get the other arm free but is too late, for as she stands up, Milton bites her.

She quickly dispatches Milton before falling to the floor. Later, Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Tyreese, and Sasha arrive at the torture room and find a pool of blood outside the door. They go in, find Milton’s body, and find a bitten Andrea sitting against the wall.

Is Andrea in season 3 of The Walking Dead?
